The Faults Analysis of Ultrasound Gastroscope in the Judgement of Character of Stomach Neoplasms

Abstract:Objective To summarize the causes of ultrasound gastroscope in the judgement of character of stomach neoplasms.Methods Clinical performances and characteristics of 18 patients who were failed in the judgement of character of stomach neoplasms during July 2010 and May 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.Results A total of 55 patients were diagnosed as having gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST) and underwent surgical resection,37 patients were finally diagnosed by postoperative pathology,18 patients were misdiagnosed and the misdiagnosis rate was 32.73%.Among the 18 misdiagnosed patients there were 8 patients with leiomyoma of stomach,3 patients with schwannomas,3 patients with gastric heterotopia pancreas,2 patients with vascular malformations,1 patient with nodular fibrous false tumors and 1 patient with reduplication of stomach.Conclusion Ultrasound gastroscope in diagnosis of GIST tends to have a high misdiagnosis rate with poor specificity.Electronic gastroscopy can make up the deficiency of the ultrasonic gastroscope at the same time.EUS-FNA can diagnose GIST before operation and therefore reduce the misdiagnosis rate of ultrasonic gastroscope.
