Abstract:A methodology of ontology modeling on educational domain based on knowledge engineering was proposed to solve the problem of difficulty to construct domain knowledge ontology for multi-subjects. A complete ontology constructional model was built by defining domain knowledge scope, extracting concepts from domain knowledge, defining taxonomy and constructing relationship model based on concepts aggregation. The process to build domain ontology was simplified and domain experts were enabled to develop course ontology autonomously. A use case of ontology modeling for unified modeling language (UML) course was introduced and discussed, and the feasibility of the methodology was evaluated.

Abstract:Ontology is a efficient way of knowledge-modeling.With automatic control theory,the application in constructing teaching-domain knowledge model based on ontology is illustrated,and net interactive XML is used highly to describe the ontology.7-tuple is used to describe the conception of teaching-domain,and the meaning and formal-foundation definition of every tuple is described in de-tails.Therefore,the teaching-domain knowledge ontology will be a integrated,complexity and clear semantic web structure model.

Abstract:There are a lot of mature ontology editors available nowadays. Their user interfaces are mainly based on tree-type structure, which can not represent ontology very well. In this paper, we introduce an OWL ontology editor VO-Editor. It has the pure graphical user interface and is equippted with ontology segmentation technique. After introduce its architecture and special ontology modeling way, we conclude that the VO-Editor is benefit for good understanding of ontology and efficient ontology modeling.

Abstract:Ontology is gradually used for knowledge representation recently. It helps computer understand human knowledge more intelligently in intelligent control, knowledge searching etc. In this paper, after given vegetable supply chain model based on our investigation, we proposed the process of constructing vegetable supply chain Ontology. The concepts and their relationships of vegetable supply chain are described in the Ontology framework. Then we formalized the Ontology framework using protege. Classes and properties of vegetable supply chain are all represented using protege. This makes the knowledge of vegetable supply chain express clearly. These methods can also be used to construct other fields Ontology.

Abstract:Inter-organization collaboration is recently acknowledged as an important vision of the grid research, however there are not many well implemented system and not many applications that are in large-scale real use either. This paper present a VO(Virtual Organization) Ontology Model Framework that simplifies the Inter-organization collaboration of the future grids. Thanks to the semantic technology, we can develop semantic based model framework to implement interoperability even in heterogeneous environments. The framework, consisted of a bunch of ontologies, definitely defines and describes which attributes of the VOs should define. We define and implement the semantic model of Virtual Organizations and Grid Resources and introduce the basic concepts and mechanisms to represent them and apply them to the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CATCM). The prototype presented in this paper is also applicable to other VO application projects.

Abstract:A methodology is presented to construct virtual domain ontologies reusing other domain knowledge already available. This methodology uses the semantic relevance of existing domain models and domain ontologies, and proposes the possibility of building ontologies following the view of semantic match. Firstly, a structural definition of relevance degree is given. Based on the evolution of population, the domain ontologies constructing technologies in the terminology from genetics such as selection, clone, mutation, crossover, synthesis and transgenic are discussed. Finally, a VDO (virtual domain ontologies) constructing system is introduced, and a case study in the field of some hotels and travel agencies is demonstrated.

Abstract:With the popularization of virtual reality technology and the deepening of application, modeling method as the core will also be applied to more complex system. Existing modeling method techniques is not an efficient and fast implementation of complex system, whose model, movement and the relationship between the models are isolated from each other. Aiming at these problems, this paper first uses the process modeling method to simplify complex system, and then uses relation model to build the standard structure for model, movement and relationship, finally, according to the complex process and the composite object, this method is implemented to validate the feasibility and effectiveness.

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the existing main ontology construction methods and tools, we proposed a user-oriented method of semi-automatic domain ontology construction. The method needs to build a descriptor set according to the user’s requirements, and establish a hierarchy structure based on it. Users can construct ontologies by using this method in the case without the participation of experts. And the method still has advantages for expansion, collaborative development of ontologies.

Abstract:This paper proposes an ontology learning system model based on the Web search engine and Protege-OWL API, which emphasizes iterative learning approach by the extracted instances. We discuss taxonomic and non-taxonomic relationship learning separately in ontology learning system, and investigate the importance of verb plus noun phrase learning for extraction of activity concepts in Chinese. We also propose an algorithm of relevance measurement for extracting relation instances by binary keywords based on co-occurrence statistics. Finally, we build a practical system of ontology learning through learning relation instances of the Chinese festival ontology, and test the effectiveness of our method.

Abstract:The Semantic Web provides the foundation for semantic architecture to support the transparent exchange of information and knowledge among collaborating e-business organizations. Recent advances in the Semantic Web technologies offer means for organizations to exchange knowledge in a meaningful way. In spite of these developments, major challenges remain for developers of the Semantic Web applications, such as ontology modeling, and ontology based information retrieval. In this paper, a visual ontology modeling tool called VOEditor and an architecture based on the tool aimed at addressing these issues are presented. An easy to use the visual ontology modeling tool is deployed, providing a convenient mechanism for ontology engineers to create and edit their ontologies in a graphical mode. Search and coordination activities are carried out by a system of multiagent designed for such environments. Finally, the tool and the architecture are demonstrated in the Tourism Recommendation System which is based on a tourism domain ontology created by the VOEditor.

Abstract:In order to achieve the goals of high precision, high efficiency and low cost for the assembly of multi-species and variable volume of precision micro-parts, this paper proposes a kind of method for building the ontology-based intelligent assembly knowledge base. As the traditional data model is difficult to express some complex knowledge, this knowledge base is driven by the ontology model instead of the traditional data model to solve the problem. This paper completes the knowledge base using the protégé software to carry out the consistency test, using the semantic web rules description language SWRL to construct reasoning rules, using Jess reasoning engine to realize the knowledge reasoning. Hence, generating new knowledge to update the knowledge base.

Abstract:Domain ontology plays an essential role in formalization and sharing of domain knowledge. However, constructing domain ontology is a labour intensive and time consuming engineering. To efficiently represent knowledge as a set of concepts and relations within domain ontology, a 5W1H method is proposed to analysis concepts and relations of it from six aspects including Who, When, Where, What, Why and How. The theory and methodology of modelling domain ontology based 5W1H is also presented in this paper. Take Expert Ontology in expert information domain for an example, six-layer framework for conceptual model of expert ontology based 5W1H is designed, and conceptual model of expert ontology is constructed, in which concepts and relations within expert ontology are defined. Application shows that the 5W1H modelling method is flexible and scalable, because it is not only able to assist ontology engineering to construct domain ontology quicker and more accurately, but also adaptable to business changes and user requirements. In addition, it is helpful to define reasoning rules for inferring knowledge and to share domain knowledge.

Abstract:The modeling rules of ontology were introduced.Based on the practices,the problems occurred during the current building domain ontology were analyzed.A Hierarchy-Spiral domain ontology construction method EHSO(ECSI-Hierarchy-Spiral-Ontology) was proposed by learning other ontology’s building mode,combining with knowledge management spiral model.During the process of creating ontology,the ontology conversion tools were used to make a single building into a team development to improve the efficiency of creating ontology.By using this method to build the East China Sea fishery knowledge classification ontology,this method was proved of logic,operability and expanding.

Abstract:For the parts information describing in decision-making process of CAPP system, with the concept of domain ontology, part information model, which includes four information layer(parts layer, feature layer, topology layer and process layer), has been established, a hierarchical description of process information has been achieved while build a domain ontology model of shaft parts by using the protégé, a ontology editing software. using a stepped shaft part as example illustrate the information indicating of the part information model in order to verify the feasibility of the model has been created, it has laid a good foundation to build process knowledge database for the CAPP system.

Abstract:While Enterprise Architecture Modeling (EAM) methodologies become more and more popular, an EAM methodology tailored to the needs of virtual organizations (VO) is still to be developed. Among the most popular EAM methodologies, TOGAF has been chosen as the basis for a new EAM methodology taking into account characteristics of VOs presented in this paper. In this new methodology, referred as Virtual Organization Breeding Methodology (VOBM), concepts developed within the ECOLEAD project, e.g. the concept of Virtual Breeding Environment (VBE) or the VO creation schema, serve as fundamental elements for development of VOBM. VOBM is a generic methodology that should be adapted to a given VBE. VOBM defines the structure of VBE and VO architectures in a service-oriented environment, as well as an architecture development method for virtual organizations (ADM4VO). Finally, a preliminary set of tools and methods for VOBM is given in this paper.
