Abstract:The author gives a dual characterization of solid cones in locally convex spaces. From this the author obtains some criteria for judging convex cones to be solid in various kinds of locally convex spaces. Using a general expression of the interior of a solid cone, the author obtains a number of necessary and sufficient conditions for convex cones to be solid in the framework of Banach spaces. In particular, the author gives a dual relationship between solid cones and generalized sharp cones. The related known results are improved and extended.

Abstract:We study the notion of algebraic tangent cones at singularities of reflexive sheaves. These correspond to extensions of reflexive sheaves across a negative divisor. We show the existence of optimal extensions in a constructive manner, and we prove the uniqueness in a suitable sense. The results here are an algebro-geometric counterpart of our previous study on singularities of Hermitian-Yang-Mills connections.

Abstract:Reflexive cones in Banach spaces are cones with weakly compact intersection with the unit ball. In this paper we study the structure of this class of cones. We investigate the relations between the notion of reflexive cones and the properties of their bases. This allows us to prove a characterization of reflexive cones in term of the absence of a subcone isomorphic to the positive cone of \ell_{1}. Moreover, the properties of some specific classes of reflexive cones are investigated. Namely, we consider the reflexive cones such that the intersection with the unit ball is norm compact, those generated by a Schauder basis and the reflexive cones regarded as ordering cones in a Banach spaces. Finally, it is worth to point out that a characterization of reflexive spaces and also of the Schur spaces by the properties of reflexive cones is given.

Abstract:A characterization of unconditional convergent series is given for the case of sequentially complete locally convex spaces. From it we show that if E is a barrelled space with continuous dual E', then (E', beta(E', E)) contains no copy of (c(0), parallel to.parallel to(infinity)) if and only if every continuous linear operator T : E --> l(1) is both compact and sequentially compact.

Abstract:In this paper we first extend from normed spaces to locally convex spaces some characterizations of denting points in convex sets. On the other hand, we also prove that in an infrabarreled locally convex space a point in a convex set is denting if and only if it is a point of continuity and an extreme point of the closure of such a convex set under the strong topology in the second dual. The version for normed spaces of the former equivalence is new and contains, as particular cases, some known and remarkable results. We also extend from normed spaces to locally convex spaces some known characterizations of the weak property ($\pi$) of cones. Besides, we provide some new results regarding the angle property of cones and related. We also state that the class of cones in normed spaces having a pointed completion is the largest one for which the vertex is a denting point if and only if it is a point of continuity. Finally we analyse and answer several problems in the literature concerning geometric properties of cones which are related with density problems into vector optimization.

Abstract:By using dual cones and their properties, we establish a fundamental dual characterization and scalarization for Benson proper efficient points without any additional assumption on the ordering cone. From this, we obtain several scalarization theorems and Lagrange multiplier theorems for Benson proper minimizers of optimization problems with nearly cone-subconvexlike set-valued maps. The related known results are improved, and some new criteria for checking Benson proper efficiency are deduced.

Abstract:In this paper we study the analytic tangent cones of admissible Hermitian-Yang-Mills connections near a homogeneous singularity of a reflexive sheaf, and relate it to the Harder-Narasimhan-Seshadri filtration. We also give an algebro-geometric characterization of the bubbling set. This strengthens our previous result.

Abstract:In the paper we consider convex cones in infinite-dimensional real vector spaces which are endowed with no topology. The main purpose is to study an internal geometric structure of convex cones and to obtain an analytical description of those. To this end, we first introduce the notion of an open component of a convex cone and then prove that an arbitrary convex cone is the disjoint union of the partial ordered family of its open components and, moreover, as an ordered set this family is an upper semilattice. We identify the structure of this upper semilattice with the internal geometric structure of a convex cone. We demonstrate that the internal geometric structure of a convex cone is related to its facial structure but in the infinite-dimensional setting these two structures may differ each other. Further, we study the internal geometric structure of conical halfspaces (convex cones whose complements are also convex cones). We show that every conical halfspace is the disjoint union of the linear ordered family of its open components each of which is a conical halfspace in its linear hull. Using the internal geometric structure of conical halfspaces, each asymmetric conical halfspace is associated with a linearly ordered family of linear functions, which generates in turn a real-valued function, called a step-linear one, analytically describing this conical halfspace. At last, we establish that an arbitrary asymmetric convex cone admits an analytical representation by the family of step-linear functions.

Abstract:Among metrics of constant positive curvature on a punctured compact Riemann surface with conical singularities at the punctures, dihedral monodromy means that the action of the monodromy group globally preserves a pair of antipodal points. Using recent results about local invariants of quadratic differentials, we give a complete characterization of the set of conical angles realized by some cone spherical metric with dihedral monodromy.

Abstract:In this paper, we first show that for a Banach space X there is a fully order-reversing mapping T from conv(X) (the cone of all extended real-valued lower semicontinuous proper convex functions defined on X) onto itself if and only if X is reflexive and linearly isomorphic to its dual X*. Then we further prove the following generalized Artstein-Avidan-Milman representation theorem: For every fully order-reversing mapping T: conv(X) → conv(X) there exist a linear isomorphism U: X → X*, x0*, φ0 ∈ X*, α > 0 and r0 ∈ ℝ so that $$(Tf)(x) = alpha ({cal F}f)(Ux + x_0^ *) + leftlangle {{varphi _0},x} ight angle + {r_0},;;;;;forall x in X,$$ where ({cal F}): conv(X) → conv(X*) is the Fenchel transform. Hence, these resolve two open questions. We also show several representation theorems of fully order-preserving mappings defined on certain cones of convex functions. Abstract:In this paper, we provide some equivalences on dentability in normed spaces. Among others we prove: the origin is a denting point of a pointed cone $C$ if and only if it is a point of continuity for such a cone and $\overline{C^*-C^*}=X^*$; $x$ is a denting point of a convex set $A$ if and only if $x$ is a point of continuity and a weakly strongly extreme point of $A$. We also analize how our results help us to shed some light on several open problems in the literature.

Abstract:Cone spherical metrics, defined on compact Riemann surfaces, are conformal metrics with constant curvature one and finitely many cone singularities. Such a metric is termed \textit{reducible} if a developing map of the metric has monodromy in ${\rm U(1)}$, and \textit{irreducible} otherwise. Utilizing the polystable extensions of two line bundles on a compact Riemann surface $X$ with genus $g_X>0$, we establish the following three primary results concerning these metrics with cone angles in $2\pi{\mathbb Z}_{>1}$: \begin{itemize} \item[(1)] Given an effective divisor $D$ with an odd degree surpassing $2g_X$ on $X$, we find the existence of an effective divisor $D'$ in the complete linear system $|D|$ that can be represented by at least two distinct irreducible cone spherical metrics on $X$. \item[(2)] For a generic effective divisor $D$ with an even degree and $°D\geq 6g_X-2$ on $X$, we can identify an arcwise connected Borel subset in $|D|$ that demonstrates a Hausdorff dimension of no less than $\big(°D-4g_{X}+2\big)$. Within this subset, each divisor $D'$ can be distinctly represented by a family of reducible metrics, defined by a single real parameter. \item[(3)] For an effective divisor $D$ with $°D=2$ on an elliptic curve, we can identify a Borel subset in $|D|$ that is arcwise connected, showcasing a Hausdorff dimension of one. Within this subset, each divisor $D'$ can be distinctly represented by a family of reducible metrics, defined by a single real parameter.
