Abstract:Objective To determine the dominant anaerobic bacteria in the samples of menopausal and non-menopausal patients suffering from bacterial vaginosis,and to examine the resistance of the isolated anaerobes against 5-nitroimidazole and lincornycin drugs.Methods The vaginosis secretions of 165 non-menopausal bacterial vaginitis patients,125 menopausal bacterial vaginitis patients,84 non-menopausal healthy women and 68 menopausal healthy women were collected and the pH values of the samples were measured.By using selective mediums,anaerobes respectively belonging to Bacteroides,Fusobacterium,Lactobacillus,Eubacterium,Peptococcus and Peptostreptococcus in the samples were isolated.The anaerobic isolates were identified to species.Doubling dilution method was applied to detect the minimal inhibition concentrations(MIC) ofsecnidazole,tinidazole,metronidazole,lincomyein and clindamycin inhibiting the isolated 760 anaerobic bacteria.Results The samples from all of the bacterial vaginitis patients,97.6% of the non-menopausal healthy women and 98.5% of the menopausal healthy women were positive for anaerobic bacteria.In the vaginitis patients'samples,the positive rates of the anaerobes belonging to Bacteroides,Provotella and Porpgyromonas were remarkably higher thanthose of the corresponding healthy controls(P<0.05 and P<0.01),in which B.capilloszes,B.putrediuis,B.ragilis,P.melaninogenicus and P.asaccharolvticus were the dominant bacteria.The positive rates in the pateints'samples of the anaerobes belonging to Fusohacteriun,Lactobacillus,EubacteriunZ,Peptococcus and Peptostreptococcus did not show any significant differences compared to those in the corresponding healthy controls(P>0.05).The positive rates of the Lactobacillus' spp.in the patients'samples were obviously lower than those in the corresponding healthy controls(P<0.01).The pH values of the vaginal secretion samples from the non-menopausal healthy: women and patients as well as from the menopausal healthy women and patients were 4.5±0.2,5.5±0.8,6.5±0.3 and 6.5±1.0,respectively.For the 405 isolates ofGram-positive anaerobic bacteria, the MIC_(90) values of secnidazole,tinidazole and ruetronidazole were 1～8 μg/ml,while the MIC_(90) values of lincomycin and clindamycin were 4～16 μg/ml.
