Abstract:A new benzoxazolinone glucoside, 4-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-benzoxazolin-2(3H)-one, was isolated from Acanthus ilicifolius, a medicinal plant from south China. Abstract:Aim To investigate the structure of mogroside Iva isolated from traditional Chinese medicine fructus mo-mordicae [ fruits of Siraitia grosvenori (Swingle) C. Jeffery] and summarize the NMR characteristics of the structure. Meth-ods Common extraction, separation and purification methods were used. Various NMR techniques including 1 H NMR,13 CNMR, DEPT, 1H-1H COSY, HSQC, HMBC, NOESY and molecular model simulated by computer were used to elucidatethe structure. Results 1 H and 13 C NMR signals of mogroside Ⅳa were assigned, and spectroscopic basis was obtained for identification of such type of compounds. Conclusion 1D and 2D NMR techniques including 1 H-1 H COSY, HSQC, HM-BC, NOESY spectra are powerful tools for structure analysis. The structure determined by NMR methods is identical with energy minimized conformation simulated by computer.

Abstract:The structure of the title compound was identified by H-1, C-13, DEPT (distortionless enhancement by polarization transfer) and various two dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, such as COSY (correlation spectroscopy), HSQC (heteronuclear correlation spectroscopy) and HMBC (heteronuclear multiple bond correlation spectroscopy). All the chemical shifts of H-1 and C-13 were assigned. The high efficiency of the HMBC in the structure research, of complex and high symmetric compounds was discussed.

Abstract:The infrared spectrum, ultraviolet spectrum, mass spectrum, H-1 nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum, C-13 nuclear magnetic resonance spectra ( 1313, DEPT- 45, 90, 135), H-1-H-1 correlated spectroscopy (H-1-H-13 COSY), (H-1 detected) heteronuclear multiple-quantum coherence (HMQC) of loteprednol etabonate were reported and interpreted. All the H-1 NMR and C-13 NMR chemical shifts were assigned by means of H-1-H-1 COSY and HMQC. The chemical structure of the main characteristic fragmentations, pi --> pi * electron transition, and the vibrations of functional groups of the compound were discussed. The molecular structure of loteprednol etabonate has been identified.

Abstract:The structure of a new compound, isolated from the endophyte of the semi-mangrove plant Hibiscus tilianceus, was elucidated with nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. In the primary H-1 NMR test, it was found that some signal lines were submerged under the "water peak", and this would interfere with the analysis of NMR spectra. In this work, the variational rule between the water-peak chemical shift and the water content was investigated for solvent DMSO-d(6). Using the results, the water-peak chemical shift was modulated with certain amount of extra water introduced into the practical sample tests. As a result, the interference of water peak was overcome, and a group of suitable spectra including H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, COSY, HMQC, HMBC, etc., were obtained. The structural elucidation of the new compound was achieved, and it was confirmed that this compound belonged to a triterpenoid of oleanane, and identified as 3,4-seco-olean-11,13-dien-4,15 alpha,22 beta,24-tetraol-3-oic acid.

Abstract:A sesquiterpene lactone was isolated from Nouelia insignis Franch,and its structure was elucidated(compound 1)by 2D NMR to be 8β,9-dihydro-onoseriolide.Complete assignment of the 1H and 13C chemical shifts for the compound was obtained.The assignments of H1 and H-2 of the compound previously reported were found incorrect,and the correct assignments were given.The results of this study may have some practical significance for the structural elucidation of onoseriolide sesquiterpene lactones.

Abstract:A series of 1,3-oxazino［3,2-d］［1,5］ benzodiazepine-1-one derivatives' stereochemistry was studied by 1H NMR. During the 1H NMR experiments, we found out their unique stereochemistry of seven-membered rings. All the discernible hydrogen's chemical shifts were assigned. Their distorted boat conformations were discovered by the related coupling constants and gNOESY results, which were compared with x-ray diffraction result and the conformation of analogous benzothioazepines.

Abstract:The structural elucidation of chiral molecules with more than one stereocenter is usually a tricky problem. In this paper, efficient 1H NMR spectroscopic approaches for assigning the erythro and threo configurations of 1-oxygenated 1,2-diarylpropan-3-ols were developed. By analysis of the chemical shift differences of diastereotopic methylene H2-3 (Δδ3) in CDCl3 or the chemical shift differences of H-1 and H-2 (Δδ1,2) in methanol-d4, deuterated dimethyl sulfoxide, and acetone-d6, the configurations of 1-oxygenated 1,2-diarylpropan-3-ols can be rapidly and conveniently determined.

Abstract:Oxiracetam is often used as a nootropic agent.In this study,the NMR characteristics and conformation of oxiracetam were investigated.It was shown that the protons on the side-chain methylene group are magnetic nonequivalent because of the anisotropy effect of pyrrolidine ring.H6 and H3 showed long-range coupling,due to the partial double-bond character of the amide bond on the pyrrolidine ring.Pyrrolidine ring favored envelope conformation.Hindered internal rotation of another amide bond on the side chain was also analyzed.

Abstract:Two new indolizidine alkaloids, (+/-)-3-oxoisoelaeocarpine (1) and (+/-)-elaeocarpine N-oxide (2), along with three known alkaloids, (+/-)-isoelaeocarpine (3), (+/-)-elaeocarpine (4), and (-)-isoelaeocarpiline (5), were isolated from an EtOH extract of the branches and leaves of Elaeocarpus sphaericus. The structures of these compounds were determined by spectroscopic and chemical methods. Furthermore, enantiomers of compounds 1 and 3 were separated on a chiral CD-Ph column, and their absolute configurations were determined by TD-DFT (time-dependent density-functional theory) quantum-chemical calculations of their electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectra.

Abstract:In this work, the NMR characteristics of several nitrogen containing compounds, including Aztreonam, Omeprazole and a Schiff base, were investigated. The results show that quadrupole moment of 14 N nuclei[1] , inter-molecular hydrogen bonding and tautomic equilibria of intra-molecular proton transformation are the major factors influencing the NMR characteristics of these compounds. Based on the results, it is suggested that the aforementioned factors should be considered when designing NMR experiments for and analyzing NMR spectra of nitrogen containing compounds, since knowing the influences of these factors may help gaining more information on the structural and chemical properties of the compounds.
