Abstract:Objective:To investigate medical staff's attitude on hospice care, improve life quality of terminal patients and family members, and provide basis for development of hospice care. Methods:A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate medical staff's attitude on hospice care. Totally 700 doctors and nurses were randomly selected from different classes of hospital. Results:Most of physicians and nurses had positive attitudes on hospice care. They were willing to provide hospice care for patients and their family members. Generally physicians and nurses lacked systematic training of hospice care, and lacked knowledge and skills to communicate with patients and family members. Nurses' attitudes on hospice care were more positive than physicians. Conclusion:We suggest that we should strengthen training and research on hospice care to improve medical staff's hospice care attitudes. Then hospice care will get further development.
