RESEARCH PROGRESS IN BONDING TECHNOLOGY OF TiAl - BASED ALLOY AND STEEL

Abstract:TiAl - based alloy has good properties such as light specific gravity, good high temperature mechanical properties and oxidation resistance, so it has an application prospect to replace Ni - based superalloy in engine. For this purpose, the problem of joining TiAl 鈥?based alloy and steel must be solved. The research status of bonding technology about TiAl- based alloy and steel were introduced in this review, including friction welding, diffusion bonding and brazing. The emphases were placed on the characteristics, applicability and latest progress in this paper.
