Abstract:It pointed out based on Dufu's poems,Dufu's thatched cottage created complicated garden spaces and abundant garden artistic conception.From four aespects including the garden location,architectural layout,calligraphy and inscribed boards and plant disposition,the space arrangements such as the coexistence of virtuality and reality,transforming the reality into virtuality,harmonizing reality and virtuality,as well as the landscape artistic conception which blending poetry into garden and recreating artistic conception as described in Dufu's poetry were deeply analyzed.

Abstract:Sculpture art is the physical form of human emotion overflow. Sculpture is an important part of Chinese and Western culture. Whether ancient or modern, the creation of sculpture reflects the cultural spirit of the times. Due to the different cultural backgrounds, the themes of Chinese and Western sculpture art show great differences. The different cultures of China and the West determine that there are great differences between Chinese and Western sculpture art. With the development of economic globalisation, the collision and fusion of Chinese and Western cultures have prompted Chinese contemporary sculpture to present a combination of traditional and Western cultures. The performance of traditional and western culture in modern sculpture is analysed, and an effective way of combining Chinese and western culture is proposed from three aspects: theory and practice, connotation and function, and realism and realism. Sculpture art, as one of the important forms of artistic expression, is able to show the great differences between Chinese and Western cultures. The development of contemporary sculpture art, to recognize the significance of cultural integration and development, and to seek ways to effectively combine traditional Chinese culture with Western culture, so as to better promote the development of modern sculpture art.

Abstract:In the ancient Greek literary criticism,the primary concern is the external reality,while there is a comparative lack of interest in the artist himself.Longinus breaks the ground,and for the first time turns the critical attention to the artist himself.This paper argues that Longinus's paradoxical thoughts on artist can be revealed in two relations.One is that between nature and art of the artist,and the other between the artist and the ancients and their works.Against the current view of laying more importance to nature than to art,he tries to strike a balance between the two,and believes that to accomplish a work of sublimity,both are important.For those short of gifted nature,he believes it is still possible to achieve sublimity,and suggests an imitation of the ancients.Different from Plato,Aristotle and Horace,he emphasizes a kind of spiritual imitation,and in doing so,he greatly enriches the uses of mimesis.

Abstract:This article discusses terminological problems in the context of contemporary art practice and theory in China. Contemporary Chinese sculpture criticism has evolved in the context of certain influence of Western theories of art. Against the background of the integration of Western theories and terminology system of sculpture in the present stage, the Chinese sculpture community has perceived and internalized terms such as realism, depiction, figurative, abstract, and so on. This has greatly enriched the theory and practice of Chinese sculpture. At the same time, there are sculptural terms rooted in the Chinese national art practice, such as “xie-shi” and “xie-yi”. Unfortunately, limited by the cultural and linguistic contexts of China and the West, and by the fact that most Chinese sculptors still preserve the creative habit of relying on traditional experience and personal judgment, these terms lead to vagueness and speculation in defining the type of sculptural artwork. This situation can very easily lead to ambiguity and misinterpretation in interlingual translation, which becomes an obstacle to the understanding of Chinese sculptural art in other countries and limits the development of Chinese sculptural criticism. This is an important academic problem that requires long-term research. The author would like to express his gratitude to Prof. Maria Burganova for drawing his attention to this problem. According to the results of the author's search in the Chinese full-text database of periodicals, master's theses and doctoral dissertations CNKI, there are still no papers on Chinese art history specifically dealing with this relevant topic, which remains to be explored.

Abstract:The linguistic style of Mudan's poetry is an issue which easily arouses controversy and misunderstanding,the core of which,we believe,lies in his metaphors.With an initial probing into a particular phenomenon of his metaphors,i.e.,his method of combining thought with sensibility,or his method of personification of Abstract ideas,this article then introduces the concerning topic to the whole of Mudan's metaphors,and to Mudan's own cognition of metaphorical language,which is to eliminate the boundaries of conceptual categories while realizing the correspondence of inner reality and outer world.In addition,the article also investigates the negative effects of his usage of some metaphors with the conclusion that the overly frequent bridging of categories of objects in such metaphors has lead to the mess of perceptions,which may be regarded as a lesson on the proper use of metaphors.
