Abstract:Objective: To research the effects and the related mechanism of natural taurine on portal hypertension in rats. Methods: Portal hypertension (PHT) models were induced by compound factors. A total of 60 rats were randomly divided into three groups: normal control group, model group and natural taurine group, 20 rats in each group. Detection of each group before and after treatment of portal vein pressure (PVP), Portal venous flow (PVF), mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), liver function, SerumⅣ-C, PC Ⅲ, HA, LN content.Observed before and after treatment in each of the changes in liver histology. The levels of NO, activity of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and cCMP were detected by nitric reductase, colorimetry and Radioimmunoassay Methods. Results: Compared with model group, in the natural taurine group the levels of PVP, PVF and HR was significantly decreased, the levels of MAP was increased, there was significant difference (P0.05). The levels of ALT was significantly decreased, and ALB was increased, compared with model group difference was significant (P0.01). The levels ofⅣ- C, PCⅢ, HA, LN was significantly decreased, compared with model group difference was significant (P0.01), but TBIL was not significant change, compared with model group, there was no significant difference (P0.05). The levels of NO, cCMP and activity of NOS were all decreased, compared with model group difference was significant (P0.05), and the organizational structure of the liver was improved. Conclusion: Natural taurine is highly effective in the treatment of portal hypertension in rats, portal hypertension of cirrhosis of the formation mechanism of the "two-way"regulation, and have good prospects for the development and application of clinical.
