Abstract:The phenomena and the nature of many problems that arise in the college entrance examinations differ much among each other.There exist many problems in the college entrance examinations,such as the unfair mark levels over which students can enter different levels higher education schools,the increasing college entrance examination competition,too many compulsory subjects for the college entrance examinations and participants' too heavy burden,the pursuit of the rate of students' entering schools of a higher level,etc.However,the nature and origin of these problems doesn't reside in college entrance examinations itself that only make these problems obvious.College entrance exmination is not the root of all evils,but the congruent of various educational and social conflicts.Without it,many of these problems and conflicts remain as usual,and they differ only in forms.We must seek nature through phenomena.Despite the facts that there are some limitations in the system of college entrance examinations and it exerts some negative influece on primary and secondary education,it is still a good tool to select and promote talents in an objective way,which is more beneficial than harmful for China's education and society.

Abstract:There have been many reforms in university entrance examination since its renewal in 1977.Generally speaking,the reform related to examination technology is mostly easier to succeed,while the institutional reform is normally more complicated.The reform of university entrance examination should accord with Chinese national situation and the social development stages.Only when the reform conforms to the mainstream public opinion can university entrance examination gain the support of the people and have its long-term vitality.It is the reality that current university entrance examination reform should choose the mode adapting to the level of social material and civilization.The ultimate objective of the reform of university entrance examination is not to be changed into university's separate admission,or not likely to rely on the American mode of university admission examination,but to explore and establish the admission examination system suitable for the Chinese national situation with its own characteristics.

Abstract:Fairness and science is the fundamental value of college entrance examination, and it’s also the two wings to sustainable development for college entrance examination, the two are indispensable. But the reform of college entrance examination in order to“Fairness first”or“scientific priority”, there are some contradictions in the theory and practice, from the historical experience, it often depends on the country’s political, economic, social and regional education development situation in reality. September, 2014, issued the“State Council on deepening the reform of admissions exam system implementation opinions”, actively respond to social concerns, and trying to strike a balance in the two aspects:promoting education fairness and scientific selection of talent, it can be said to be a fair and scientific reform. At present, actively and steadily push forward the reform of college entrance examination, must seize the right idea and direction of reform, strengthen overall planning and coordination of internal and external relations and interests, and take some practical reform strategies.

Abstract:The imperial examination system in history was not so dark as what it is thought of by the modern people. Therefore, it is necessary to reappraise this system because of the incomplete and non-objective understanding and knowledge of it in the past. The prejudice today comes from the negative attitude towards it prevailing in the late Qinng Dynasty. In fact, many famous scholars in history, from the Sui and Tang Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, praised this system, and many of them regarded this system as "the most fair" one. To redress this system has already become an ideological trend in the contemporary Chinese academia. A study of this system is beneficial for our better understanding of the characteristics of Chinese society and the destiny of Chinese traditional culture. At the same time, we can draw a historical lesson from it for the present examination reform.

Abstract:To give attention to both unity and diversity is the direction of university entrance exam reform.The objective of university entrance exam reform is to establish the university entrance exam system giving priority to centralized exam,with ability test,diversified evaluation and classified enrolment.University entrance exam reform should follow the principle of giving overall consideration,being fair and balanced,scientific and high effective,with diversified choices,following in proper sequence,and being pratical and feasible.There are the following selective plans about university entrance exam reform:one exam and autonomous enrollment;classified exam and multi-enrollment;two exams and combination of centralization and decentralization.The policy suggestions for the improvement of university entrance exam can be as follows:to fomulate national educaitonal exam law or national exam law;to integrate the exam administrative institutes and resources;to take the stability and inheritance into the reform consideration;to push forward the reform of foreign language exam;to promote the reform of regional equity and enlarge the autonomy right of university enrollment.On such basis can we put forward the university entrance exam reform plans for choices and the series of policy suggestions.

Abstract:Imperial Examination(IE) and its system have been demonized in the past hundred years.This paper argues that we should regard as a neutral term?rather than a derogatory one,for the term IE has profound and complex meanings.Analyses of historical phenomena reveal many misinterpretations of IE.Yet,the long history of practice tells us that the kernel of is undeniably reasonable.Complete negation of the system amounts to negation of examinations.It is argued that was a relatively fair system for selecting talents rather than the root of all evil in traditional Chinese society.It was a system created on the basis of accumulations of wisdom of countless cultural giants throughout the history of ancient China.

Abstract:The Chinese imperial examination system has witnessed seven controversies on its reform and abolition throughout its 1300-year-old history. With a historical investigation and classification analysis, result showed that the seven controversies mainly focused on three pairs of contradictions. They are controversies on the content and format of imperial examinations, controversies on choosing talents through imperial examination or recommendation, and controversies on selecting talents through imperial examination or schooling system. The main implications include that the content of national examination should be beneficial to talent selection, the format of national examination should be conductive to efficient talent selection, and the national examination should uphold social equity and fairness and especially should be conducive to social class mobility.

Abstract:The study of the influence on the western from the imperial examination in China is the most difficult issue in the imperial examination study. On the basis of summarizing the origin the viewpoint of Chinese influence on the western examination system, the thesis introduces the imperial examination system' s effect on the western countries, such as England, France and America, and proves the grounds on which the Chinese influence on the western examination system is established. From 1570 to 1870, there are more than 70 kinds of docu ments about the Chinese imperial examination published mainly in English. In addition, nowadays at least about 50 kinds of related documents can be found, and the total is above 120 kinds. Under the circumstance of having proved that the western examination system has used the imperial examination' s principle of competing fairly for reference, and after the valuable data about the civil official examination system in western countries having used the Chinese imperial examination system for reference have been found, the viewpoint about Chinese influence on the western examination system can be confirmed.

Abstract:In a certain sense,imperial examination(IE) was college entrance examination(CEE) in ancient China while CEE is IE in modern China.The tradition of IE pursuing fairness in terms of not only scholarship but also equal opportunity across regions has an impact on the regional distribution of modern universities and the practice of enrolment based on provincial quota and scoring classifications.It is argued that in the process of reform and improvement of CEE we should draw upon IE measures which had proved effective in preventing cheating and IE management practices with a view to strengthening current legislation for examination.The study of IE has important implications because it can provide valuable lessons and theoretical references for the current campaign of CEE reform.

Abstract:Since the abolishment of the imperial examination system (the IES) in 1905, the system has been the target of severe criticism by most Chinese people. This paper is intended to clear up the misunderstanding of the IES in seven respects based on some ideas of rehabilitation of the IES over the past 100 years. In the author s opinion, the IES is actually not so contemptible as most people think, at least it is not a bad system. The examination system was an attempt to recruit men on the basis of merit rather than because of social position or political connections, which is a great invention of China. Although it was abolished, the method to select talents by means of examination has not yet been and cannot be exterminated, and it is still proper to be used in the present society. The IES with a 1,300-year history has rich experiences and valuable lessons, which have implications to various examination reforms.

Abstract:With the acceleration of globalization, English education in China has become increasingly important. In recent years, Chinas education system, especially the examination system, has undergone a series of reforms. However, as these reforms take place, new issues have emerged one after another. This paper believes that as the transition of Chinas examination system to the New Gaokao system, the focus of the examination has shifted from rote learning to quality education. However, after the reform, the main problems in English education today include an excessive emphasis on exam-oriented teaching, wastage of educational resources and low resource utilization efficiency, as well as a weakening advantage for top English students. To address these problems, it is crucial and essential to transform the approach to English education development, enhance the categorization of digital resources, and improve policies related to examinations. This article believes that only by fully understanding and addressing these issues can the new examination system truly promote the healthy and sustainable development of English education.

Abstract:The new round of college entrance examination reform has determined the requirements for the establishment of the examination enrollment system with Chinese characteristics in 2020. Shanghai and Zhejiang took the lead in pilot projects and made in-depth exploration in the form, content, batches, voluntary setting and filing methods of the examination. By the end of 2018, 14 provinces and municipalities across the country have launched new college entrance examination reform, which has a wide scope and high intensity. It challenges universities from the aspects of source knowledge structure, teaching management, development direction, and so on. How to deal with the new round of college entrance examination reform has become a pressing issue faced by universities.

Abstract:Reflecting the reform process of college entrance examination, we find that there have been greater breakthroughs in the form, scope of knowledge, and the tests themselves. To a certain extent, it promoted diversified assessments and recognition of different talents. However, due to the overall progress of Chinese reform, the reform in college entrance examination is still in a stage of transformation, with various forms of the tests to improved and integrated, the variety of examinations to be adjusted, the structure and designing of test content to be optimized. There are still problems in the quality of the tests and fairness. According to the institutional change theory, changes in the college entrance examination will be from the“mandatory” to the “induced” phases; while the incentives will be less “political” than “technical” , and the single test will give way to more diversified assessments.

Abstract:Under the new curriculum reform,diversified college entrance examination programs are adopted in different provinces in China.The content of the college entrance examination is converted from unity into diversity,and the reform of the comprehensive quality evaluation is promoted to the foreground.To deepen the college entrance examination under the new curriculum reform,more attention have to be paid to the key issues and the relation between examination system reform and admission system reform,the relation between giving priority to efficiency and giving consideration to fairness,and the relation between regional development and school development have to be coordinated.As a result,by following the basic principle of fairness and defining their own subject of the examination system reform and the admission system reform,by developing examination platform and establishing evaluation supermarket,and by canceling the unified admission cut-offs and casting archives to several universities,the college entrance examination reform will be carried out successfully.

Abstract:In order to explore and establish scientific and diversified evaluation methods,we introduced a research-oriented teaching and evaluation system,i.e.exam exemption for excellent students,which has been proposed for the Microcomputer Principle and Interface Technique course as students have different academic performance.This new evaluation system is a departure from traditional simplex examination methods and a breakthrough for evaluation methods.It establishes a diversified assessment method which centers around project learning and encourages initiative.Besides,it promotes the teaching style which focuses upon principles and aims at the application of knowledge.This new evaluation reform has been implemented over the past several years and proved successful.It not only improves students' learning enthusiasm and initiative,but also gives full play to the potential and creativity of outstanding students.
