Abstract:The development of higher vocational education in China embodies a global trend of vocationalism that values skills and skilled workers, which is opposite, in some ways, to the Confucian tradition in Chinese education that values theoretical knowledge related to good governance. As the cultural trend supporting the development of higher vocational education, vocationalism is implicated in certain challenges including high tuition fees, limited upward mobility, and neglect of the humanities in education. Humanities for moral education, and mechanisms for upward mobility on equal terms for all, which are fundamental elements of Confucianism, may help resolve these challenges. This paper embodies the dialectic of a global trend and local culture in educational reform within the context of globalization.

Abstract:It is necessary to reflect and deepen on the core values of vocational education development , because there has been a significant return of interests in the policy community ,whilst it is not the case in the academic field. The core values of traditional vocational education development are to serve the economic development,they lack of humanistic attribute and ignoreability transformation,and their policies focus more on efficiency. According to human development theory , the core values of vocational education developments hould be based on the free access to basic education ,focus more on freedom to create ,abilities to live harmoniously , and finally create a human-centered harmonious society. Abstract:Vocational education plays an essential role in developing diverse human talents, passing on technical skills, and promoting employment, innovation, and entrepreneurship. As a critical part of the national education system and the development of human resources, vocational education in China plays a crucial role in the development of diverse talents, the transfer of technical skills, and the promotion of employment and entrepreneurship. This paper aims to explore the history, roles, challenges, and the way forward for vocational education in China. It is found that vocational education in China has gone through a series of name changes before settling on its current nomenclature. Although vocational education is essential to complement general academic education to build a nation, it faces an uphill battle to gain the same status and recognition bestowed on general education. These challenges include curriculum design, poor linkages with industries, public perception, and other structural issues. This paper also discusses how to overcome these challenges to improve vocational education in China.

Abstract:With the deepening of China's reform and opening-up, more and more professional talents are required to be prepared by Chinese education for meeting the challenges from inside and outside. Vocational education and training is enhanced to the prehistoric status equal to general education, not only getting away from its past subordination to general education in level, but also being promoted as one of two categories of Chinese education, even as national strategy. Through the literature review, in this paper, Chinese vocational education and training is explored in the process of its transformation from quantity to quality, to spotlight its development in the reform of Chinese education.

Abstract:The value orientation of civil education is mainly about theories of obligation, rights and morality, as well as their shift and mutual fusion. Since the foundation of PRC, civil education has been ill-fated with the value orientation undergoing a lot of changes. In fact, the value orientation of civil education has undergone four-stage changes, which arepolitics-obligation standard(1949-1978),right-morality standard(1990-2000),obligation-morality-utility standard(1990-2000) and standard(2001 to now). Every change is marked with the profound characteristics of the times. What civil education should pursue is to develop citizens of rights while focusing on the obligation-morality orientation, so that we can achieve the unity and equality of obligation-morality-right orientation.

Abstract:Vocational and technical education and training (TVET) in China is a key pathway to enhance labor productivity and drive economic development. Since the initiation of reforms and opening up, under the high attention of the Chinese government, we have experienced rapid development, from quantity expansion to quality improvement. This article delves into the current status and development trends of vocational and technical education in China, analyzing it from various aspects such as the legal environment, infrastructure, teacher enhancement, teaching methods, and cultural context. This paper conducts macro-research and analysis through policies and regulations and refers to relevant papers from Google Scholar and CNKI for micro-analysis. A telephonic interview was carried out with a total of 38 participants from four different vocational schools, industries, and enterprises. The user conducted similarity and differentiation comparisons using both Excel and Mind Mapping software. The research shows that China's vocational education market has entered a phase of rapid growth, and online education has also seen substantial development. However, due to China's vast territory and constraints arising from economic development and regional disparities, as well as diverse ethnic and cultural factors, vocational education and training (TVET) still faces numerous challenges, such as uneven economic and industry development, urban-rural disparities, teacher shortages, and the separation of schools and enterprises. This article aims to provide insights into the development of vocational and technical education and training from the perspectives of personalized education, talent cultivation, and talent needs. It is intended to expand and enhance the influence of vocational education development and broaden the perspective of vocational and technical talents.

Abstract:In the context of further development of economic globalization and the beginning of China's economic transformation, this paper focuses on the status and existing problems of vocational education in China and draws on the experience of other countries in establishing and improving education systems. This essay first studies the industry ecology of vocational education in China and discusses the government's solutions. In addition, through the horizontal comparative analysis, the author found that some countries' successful experience in promoting VET (vocational education and training) to develop is worth reference. Then this paper further illustrates the roles of government, industry, training institutions and school in China, India, Germany and the United States. At last, the study found that China needs to vigorously promote school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education integration and learned that leading social forces and private capitals is the key to establish a healthy and perfect vocational education system.

Abstract:The Ministry of Education in China has emphasized the need to strengthen the construction of vocational education textbook systems and innovate mechanisms for textbook writing, review, publication, and use. Textbook construction is a crucial aspect of fulfilling the fundamental task of cultivating well-rounded individuals and serves as a vital channel for cultural inheritance. While adhering to the principle of developing high-quality textbooks, it is also important to consider the characteristics of vocational education and create outstanding textbooks that align with the developmental patterns of students in vocational colleges. Building on these principles, this paper conducts research and provides an overview of vocational college textbooks in China. It integrates the content and value of vocational education textbooks, summarizes general principles for textbook construction, and contributes to the implementation of textbook development in vocational colleges.

Abstract:Purpose. The purpose of the article is to study the experience of the development of rural vocational education since the reform and opening up, analyze and summarize the rapid development of rural vocational education in China in the context of rural human resources development. Methodology / approach. The methods adopted in this research are mainly literature research and thematic research. Through thematic research on vocational education-related fields since the reform and opening up, and analysis, research, and induction of policies, data, phenomena, and conclusions in various vocational education literatures, it forms an objective summary of the development of rural vocational education in China since the reform and opening up. Results. Reform and opening up is the most critical period for the rapid development of various industries in China, including vocational education. This paper studies the overall situation of the development of vocational education in China since the reform and opening up, the relationship between the development of rural vocational education and policy support at the national level is concluded, it demonstrates that rural vocational education is an important cornerstone of national construction and development, and the focus and characteristic of rural vocational education is to condense the Chinese experience of school-running characteristics, it also summarizes the main problems of rural vocational education in China. Originality / scientific novelty. A multi-dimensional analysis of the development of China’s rural vocational education in the 42 years of reform and opening up has been made, and conclusions have been drawn for the development of rural vocational education with Chinese characteristics. Practical value / implications. Abstract:Vocational undergraduate education focuses on the cultivation of students' comprehensive technical ability, problem-solving ability and technical innovation ability. The development of vocational undergraduate education in China is the result of a combination of factors such as national strategies and regional missions. In this article, we have sorted out the policy documents and development history of China's vocational education, elaborated the current situation of vocational undergraduate education's development situation in various regions, their development orientations, talent goals and their faculty structures. By the end of the passage, several suggestions are proposed based on international experience and China's national conditions, which are China's vocational undergraduate education needs to take the"China mode",following the main purpose of "dual-track parallel, conditional integration". It's also highlighted that relavent departments should gradually promote the standardisation of vocational undergraduates' schooling, development of special features and standardisation of governance in order to truly realize the high-quality development of vocational undergraduates education in China.

Abstract:From the perspective of neoinstitutionalism, higher vocational education has become an emerging institution in Chinese society. Its development over three decades entails a trend of institutionalization of higher vocational education. In such a process, higher vocational education is gaining legitimacy and experiencing isomorphic changes. Various challenges have indicated an absence of institutional legitimacy at all levels of higher vocational education, namely regulative, normative, and cultural-cognitive legitimacy. The latter two are considered key for the ongoing process of institutionalizing higher vocational education. Moreover, the emergence and development of higher vocational education in China has indicated isomorphic changes in Chinese higher education in terms of non-university sectors, practical/skills learning, teachers with dual qualifications and graduate employment.
