Abstract:Objective To study the TCM syndrome distribution of h epatitis B virus infection people in Qidong region of Jiangsu province. Methods HBsAg screening was carried out in the local community residents enrolled. A study queue of hepatitis B virus infection people with HBsAg positive was set up, including hep atitis B virus carrier, chronic hepatitis B, cirrhosis, and primary liver cancer . According to the syndrome standard, the basic syndromes and composite syndrome s of hepatitis B were determined, and then basic syndromes were quantitatively s cored. Results The first four basic syndromes were qi s tagnation (28.8%), bloo d stasis (26.2%), qi deficiency (14.0%), and excess heat (10.7%). The first fou r composite syndromes were liver qi stagnation (29.5%), liver qi stagnation with spleen deficiency (19.0%), liver qi stagnation with blood stasis (16.9%), and yi n deficiency of liver and kidney (13.7%). There was significant difference in the score of q i stagnation syndrome between the cirrhosis group and the other 3 groups (P< 0.05). There was significant difference in the score of excess heat syndrome between the hepatit is B virus carrier group and chronic hepatitis B as well as cirrhosis groups (P<0.05). And there was significant difference in the scores of water damp and qi deficiency syndromes between the hepatitis B virus carrier group and the other 3 groups (P<0.05 ). Conclusion The hepatitis B virus infection people in Qidong region of Jiangsu province is characterized by combination of deficiency with excess, and the develo pment of pathological condition is manifested by the degree of qi stagnation, qi deficiency, excess heat, and water damp syndromes.
