Abstract:GSM network has entered a steady development stage in network construction. However, due to the limitation of frequency resources, the contradiction between network capacity and the growth of traffic is becoming sharp. In this article, the half-rate technology and the Ireland B concept are described. The by using the half-rate technology, the sudden traffic peak and high traffic load can be effectively solved without extra TRX or extra carrier frequency. Finally, the suggestion for opening the half-rate channel is given.

Abstract:The wireless multimedia data services over HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Share) is still limited in traditional point to point type. Wireless resource is precious, but the income per bit from data services is much less than traditional voice. It becomes a bottleneck of wireless multimedia data services day by day. We attempt to analysis Shapley Nucleolus's super allocation based on Nash-Harsanyi model, through minimum ratio and non separable gap (NSCG) methods, establish multi dimension related targets of three typical wireless multimedia data services. At last the share mechanism over HSDPA is preliminary established. The simulation result is optimistic.

Abstract:The utilization analysis of public common channels continues traditional central assign which is dissociated from wireless resource analysis and wireless channel design.So there is no essential difference among WCDMA,GSM and HSDPA system in public common channel negotiation mechanism.It is lack of effective supervision and feedback accommodation strategy,which not only has undirect influence on consumers'apperceive,but also pricks up the strain of wireless resource.Based on the individual local Nash equilibrium and whole Samuelson equilibrium,two opposite influences are taken into consideration,such as the dependence on dedicated channels by the consumers and the public common channel occupancy by the system.Three different preferential degrees are divided between the ramble consumers and the system to get the influence of the public common channel utilization on the whole utility.Finally the analysis model of public common channels utilizations is established.

Abstract:In interference-limited wireless cellular systems, interference avoidance and interference averaging are widely adopted to combat co-channel interference. In different types of wireless networks, these two basic frequency planning methods are implemented under variable system deployment strategies. With respect to the IEEE 802.16 OFDMA network, interference avoidance is usually carried out by carefully designing the frequency reuse patterns, while interference averaging is implemented by distributed subcarrier permutation, which can be further divided into multiple operation modes. In this paper, based on the system level simulation of the average signal to interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) in the 802.16 system, the performance metrics of system throughput and outage probability are estimated. According to the predetermined evaluation criterions, the system performances under variable combination patterns of frequency reuse and subcarrier permutation are evaluated. Finally, the optimal frequency planning strategies, in terms of the frequency reuse pattern and the subcarrier permutation mode, is obtained, which can serve as a reference in practical network deployments.

Abstract:Uplink capacity of multi-cell multi-service multi-carrier TD-SCDMA system employing smart antenna and multi-user detection is investigated by analysis and simulation. Relation between the user numbers and the required signal-to-noise ratios is derived. Neighboring cell interference is studied, and its statistics are obtained under the conditions of different scrambling code allocation schemes. Capacity is then expressed with respect to outage probability. Multi-service capacity planes are presented by simulation. which indicates intuitively the maximum numbers of supportable concurrent users in different service groups, either code resource limited or interference limited.

Abstract:Simulation has been conducted to investigate the performance of the up-link WCDMA channel in which pilot symbols in control channel is transmitted simultaneously with the data channel, and channel estimation is carried out using weighted multi-slot averaging. Simulation result indicates that in the process of channel estimation, number of slots and weighting factors should be selected in accordance with the fading environment of the channel under investigation. Based on the simulation result, analysis is focused on such issues as forward error correction (FEC) and how the number of RAKE fingers and average power difference between channel paths influence the up-link performance.

An application layer service model and its corresponding cross-layer mapping method are also proposed. Based on the interference-limited CDMA system, we analysis the influence of different service characteristics for network performance both in single-service and multi-services condition.

Abstract:With the explosive growth of multimedia applications, video transmission over HSDPA networks has attracted more and more attentions. Particularly in the last few years, lots of special transmission schemes have been proposed to improve the end-to-end qualities of mobile video applications. However, due to lack of a common video delivery simulation platform over HSDPA networks, the researchers have met obstacles in evaluating and comparing the performance of these schemes in a unified simulation environment. To fill this gap, a common system-level video transmission simulation platform is proposed in this paper, which is implemented specially for the HSDPA networks. To the best of our knowledge, this platform is the first one in integrating the video encoder/decoder, the video quality evaluator and the HSDPA simulator together. In this way, the researchers can study and analyze not only the overall system performance of the video-aware cross-layer transmission solutions, but also explore the influence and interaction of those separate sub-layers in the HSDPA wireless networks, such as the video application-layer, the transmission control layer, the HSDPA MAC layer, and the physical layer. Moreover, to test and verify our simulation platform, we implement eight representative fast scheduling algorithms over the HSDPA networks, and evaluate their transmission performances for the H.264/AVC video applications. Experimental simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and rationality of our simulation system.

Abstract:TD-SCDMA, proposed by China Wireless Telecommunications Standard Group (CWTS), is the low chip rate (LCR) TDD CDMA proposal in 3G. The Internet services will generate highly asymmetric data flow. The aim of TD-SCDMA downlink packet access (HSDPA) is to provide very high packet throughput and low packet delay in the downlink using the newly introduced high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH). This paper presents the methodology we used to model HSDPA for TD-SCDMA in OPNET.

Abstract:The link loss in the geometrical HAPS coverage area is analyzed to prove the feasibility of communication in this maximum geometrical coverage area. A full-scale outdoor MIMO model is employed to analyze the capacity of MIMO HAPS system. A single HAP coverage is divided into LOS inner circle and NLOS scattering fading outer circle. In each coverage area, the capacity is simulated respectively under four kinds of MIMO multi-antennas construction schemes. The simulation results show MIMO is valuable in improving the capacity of HAPS system. In inner circle, distributed MIMO array constructed by multi-MS can obtain the highest capacity. While in outer circle, distributed MIMO array constructed by multi-platform and multi-MS can gain highest capacity. If the expense of the platform is cared for, the typical MIMO array can be chosen.

Abstract:The heterogeneous and intensive deployment of wireless network improves greatly the system capacity, which can meet the increasing data traffic demand of users. However, the complex network structure and almost random base station distribution are not conducive to the performance evaluation and parameter design of systems. Considering this problem, a performance analysis framework for multi-antenna dense heterogeneous networks is proposed. Firstly, resorting to stochastic geometry model, the closed-form expression of coverage probability is derived, and the optimization scheme is proposed. In order to observe intuitively the effects of key system parameters on coverage probability, an asymptotic expression is also given. Secondly, the integral expression of Area Spectral Efficiency ( ASE) is derived. In order to reduce the computational complexity, an upper bound of ASE is provided. Finally, an effective algorithm is proposed to design the optimal active Base Stations (BSs) densities, maximizing the ASE with appropriate requirements of coverage probability. The simulation results verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis and the effectiveness of the proposed optimization algorithm. The research results of this paper can not only provide theoretical basis for the performance analysis of complex networks, but also provide feasible schemes for the optimization and design of systems.

Abstract:A two dimensional Markov chain was presented, which describes how the limited channels are shared between GPRS and voice call traffic under a certain dynamic channel allocation scheme. An approximation method was used to obtain the steady solution of the Markov chain. And by numerical calculation some main performances of the network can be estimated, such as the call blocked ratio, data average transfer rate, channel utility. The computation results show that the model is effective and is useful for networks' optimization.

Abstract:With Massive MIMO installed on High Altitude Platforms (HAPs), capacity analysis is conducted for both sparse users and hotspot users. Sparse users are assumed to follow the Poisson Point Process and their capacities are obtained via the random geometry theorem. For hotspot users, Massive MIMO combined with HAP-based communication is shown to be able to achieve the multiplexing gain thus increase the hotspot capacity. The channel correlation model of UPA under LOS propagations is obtained for users within the hotspot. An upper bound of the correlation function is further derived to show that the correlation between hotspot users can be sufficiently low, resulting in hotspot capacity improvement. The hotspot capacity is affected by location distributions of the scheduled users. Four user location distribution models are considered, which leads to the capacity upper bound, the practical schemes to implement and the capacity estimation method respectively.

Abstract:In view of the contradiction between mobile phone users’demand and the network capacity of the GSM with limited radio frequency resources, this article has proposed the computational method about the network capacity in theory of the GSM with C/I, and carried on the quantitative analysis to the relations between the network capacity of the GSM and the mobile connection quality. The article also has proposed some new technologies such as AMR-HR, COMMON BCCH in order to increase the network capacity with maintaining the mobile connection quality as far as possible.

Abstract:Based on the concept of distributed antenna system, a structure of a novel radio access network, named Hierarchical Soft Cellular (HSC) network is proposed. Logical structure and implementation methods for HSC are described in detail. In HSC, the soft cell is a set of some remote antenna units that are controlled to serve a certain mobile terminal simultaneously according to the uniform radio resource management strategy. In order to adapt various user scenarios, multilayer geographically overlapped soft cellular are constructed via orthogonal resource partition. These layers are different in their sizes, shapes and such. Comparisons of HSC with traditional cellular network and analysis show that HSC radio access network greatly increases the system capacity, interference performance and handover performance.

Abstract:In this paper, a field test platform called OTTCAP (OTT Services Capture and Analyze Platform) is developed for capturing and analyzing QoS (Quality of Service) and QoE (Quality of Experience) parameters of OTT (over-the-top) services in HSPA+ (Evolved High Speed Packet Access) networks, including Network-Level and Application-Level QoS parameters, terminal parameters and wireless environment parameters. With the help of OTTCAP, the performance of WeChat video call service is compared and analyzed in both directions under three typical scenarios from the perspectives of QoS and QoE. Abstract:Mobile WiMAX, which is standardized in the IEEE 802.16e-2005/802.16d-2004, is an broadband wireless access technology that enables convergence of mobile and fixed broadband networks through scalable orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA), adaptive-antenna systems, and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques. This paper presents the development and testing of a mobile WiMAX physical-layer testbed, which is constructed using National Instruments RF vector signal generator and RF vector signal analyzer. Implementation issues, including frame synchronization, phase correction, and power normalization, will be discussed. Practical performance measurements in terms of EVM (error vector magnitude) and spectral regrowth after HPA (high power amplifier) will be evaluated

Abstract:With the rapid development of the mobile Internet and explosive growth of emerging services and mobile applications,mobile users put forward a higher requirement for the data raters. By deploying small cells on the conventional Macrocell network,heterogeneous cellular network can effectively improve the cellular capacity. It introduces the concept and application scenario of wireless heterogeneous network like node type with low power and heterogeneous network interference,and uses a statistical approach based on stochastic geome-try to model and evaluate the performance of the proposed system and deduces coverage probability and network throughput of heteroge-neous network by stochastic geometry mathematical tools in this paper. Simulation has verified the correctness of theory deduction,which provides a theoretical basis for the actual deployment of heterogeneous networks.

Abstract:The need to consider the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of individual users and the business strategies of different operators is gaining widespread acceptance in resource allocation. OFDMA is a suitable technology for delivering very high data rate services because of its inherent ability to remove intra-cell interference. However, cell-edge users will experience high interference from neighboring cells. This paper proposes a novel radio resource management scheme in multi-cell OFDMA spectrum sharing networks to achieve the business and QoS objectives. Semi-smart antennas are employed to mitigate the co-channel interference, especially for cell-edge users, and to improve energy utilization for the overall networks. A system level simulation is implemented and the results show the proposed scheme improves the qualified user number in different load networks within a satisfactory system throughput.

Abstract:Realizing high mobile data rates in high mobility scenarios has been an important yet challenging target for wireless communications. One typical scenario of such "double high" communications is the HST, which has been one of the most representative infrastructures in more and more countries, especially in China. However, the current SE in HST communications according to the measurements is far from satisfactory to meet the data rate demand generated by the intensive users on HSTs. To address this issue, potential technologies to improve the SE performance of HST communications under various CSI assumptions are presented in this article. Specifically, two open loop beamforming methods with the help of location information (i.e., the location based MIMO precoding and the location assisted MIMO precoder cycling) are first proposed, which are shown to be robust to HST channel variations. Then, we study closed loop beamforming strategies, where channel prediction is proposed to be the key to obtain the essential CSI (e.g., channel matrix or channel covariance) with a low overhead. As HSTs usually go through complicated environments, a big data aided adaptation mechanism between the investigated methods is further proposed. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed approaches are capable of achieving over 10x SE performance than the current HST transmission strategies and worthy to be studied and discussed in the future 5G New Radio (NR) standardization. It is anticipated that communications with high data rates in high mobility scenarios will be well supported for HSTs in the 5G era.
