Abstract:Based on current energy crisis and environmental protection issues,the meaning and the development of green packaging are discussed.The conditions of research and development,and the applications in the relevant fields of four types of green buffer materials,such as bio-degradable plastics,plant fiber cushioning materials and biomass composite plastic,are discussed.The issues on the development of green packaging materials are put forward,and the direction of development of green packaging is presented.

Abstract:The recent advances in the field of ecomaterials were reviewed.In the theoretic research of ecomaterials,the methodology of LCA (life cycle assessment) was discussed and some LCA cases were presented.In the applied research of ecomaterials,the progress was presented like the state of art of nature materials,recyclable materials,and technology reconstructing.Several prospects were demonstrated for the development of ecomaterials in the future.

Abstract:A new concept of ecomaterialogy was put forward in terms of the current situation and the trends in materials industry. It is a branch of materials science dealing with the interaction between ecological environment and materials as well as material cyclic process. The aims of ecomaterialogy are to develop the science and technology so as to meet the demands of ecological materials and their process techniques based on the premise of necessary properties. Basic principles and research contents of ecomaterialogy were analyzed and discussed. Equation of environment load and new criterion of materials science and engineering were advanced. Ecological techniques of aluminum melt purification were considered as an example to point out the development direction of materials science and engineering.

Abstract:The search for green economic development has taken center stage on the international agenda as nations strive to reconcile economic advancement with environmental sustainability. The present research aims to clarify the complex link between long-term financial viability and environmental responsibility by using a huge dataset from the Chinese energy sector spanning the years 2012–2020. This paper examines the important topic of sustainable resource management and how it supports the growth of green economies globally. This study examines the connection between sustainable resource management techniques and green economic growth using an abundance of published literature, case studies, and empirical data. The increasing urgency of environmental concerns such as depletion of resources, biodiversity loss, and climate change highlights the need for effective resource management. Our research sheds light on the methods and strategies that have been used successfully around the world to support the development of green economies via sustainable resource management.

Abstract:The increasing resource and environmental pressures have impeded China's efforts to quickly promote its people's quality of life, while protecting its natural environment. Due to lack of resources, technologies and capital, China needs to seek a more integrated development strategy. Industrial ecology (IE) may be one solution as it aims at optimizing the use of materials and energy in products, processes, industrial sectors and economies by systemically mimicking natural systems in an industrial setting. The relevant practices and experiences in the developed world have proved that there is a degree of effectiveness and efficiency to development through the application of IE. It is even more critical to apply the principles of IE in China, where resources are scarce. However, compared with developed nations, China faces different environmental, economic and social constraints. Therefore, China has to adopt different approaches to implement the concept of I E. In this paper, we first review the current practices in eco-industrial development in China. Then the advantages and barriers to applying IE in China are analyzed and recommendations are provided. Ecological Sustainability Assessment Based on Material Flow Analysis: A Case Study in Shenzhen City

Abstract:To study the relationship between economic development and environmental pressures of the economic system,the material inputs and outputs of the economic system in Shenzhen City during the period from 1992 to 2007 were calculated and analyzed by the material flow analysis(MFA).The material intensity and material efficiency in Shenzhen were compared with other dis-tricts using the same indicators.The results showed that Shenzhen relied greatly on outside re-sources and the material inputs of its economic system changed obviously in 2004.The key point for controlling material consumption was to control the amount of material inputs.Shenzhen is on the third stage of city development,and the material inputs go down slowly and the material out-puts rise.Shenzhen is getting ride of the reliance on the outside materials step by step but the e-co-environmental system is still under a great pressure.Shenzhen’s resource production efficiency and environment efficiency are improving.The improvement of technology increases the efficiency of material use.So the costs of material consumption and environment pollution are becoming low-er and lower.The interaction between economic system and eco-environmental system can be di-vided into two stages.Shenzhen is now experiencing the transformations from relative sustainable development to absolute sustainable development.

Abstract:Ceaseless growth in human population led to high demand in everything. Currently, the world largely depends on petroleum-based "all material synthesis" scheme. On the other hand, depletion of fossil-based resources and their huge impact on environmental pollution have forced us to search for sustainable and eco-friendly alternative resources. In this context, the notion to utilize waste biomass could possibly provide environmental and economic benefits. This study was carefully designed to critically review state of the art in the transformation of waste biomass into value-added products. Even though extensive reviews on biomass utilization have been published in the past few years, the current study basically focused on new trends and prospective in this area. Here, global biomass potential, research developments and practices, novel biomass transformation approaches, and future perspectives were broadly discussed. More importantly, in addition to revising published researches, already implemented and ongoing large-scale projects on valorization of waste biomass have been assessed. Therefore, this study is believed to give crucial information on the current status and future direction of waste biomass utilization so as to accomplish the quest towards green economy.

Abstract:Determining the carrying capacity of ecological resources is the key to finding contradictions between human activities and the environment, as well as the links between economic growth, environmental protection and social development. In recent years, the carrying capacity of the ecological environment has been extensively studied at home and abroad. Through extensive literature research and analysis, this paper discusses the current status and main problems of recent research on the carrying capacity of the ecological environment in China. For example, two of the main problems are that: 1) the concepts and connotations are not clear enough, and 2) the research content is not systematic enough. This is followed by a summary of the evaluation index system and main calculation methods. Finally, according to the research status and development trends at home and abroad, the possible direction for the development of this research field in the future is proposed.
