Abstract:The great demand of samples and models, motive c ontents, and multi-grade scenes of geologic courses determines that virtual rea lity has a good application prospect on teaching. Education environment imp rovin g and reforming of teaching theory are the most important applications of the te chnique, and the improvement of teaching environments mainly include aspe cts suc h as demonstrating of teaching content, making of course ware, as well a s buildi ng of Virtual reality teaching environments, etc. Through Immersion and Interact ion provides by virtual reality, many geologic knowledge and phenomena become mo re visualization and interesting, thus can greatly inspire the enthus iasm of stu dents in studying and improving education quality to a higher stage.
