Abstract:This article is a brief review of Equilibrium and Disequilibrium:Explorations in China’s Macro-economy and Transition by Yuan Zhigang.By focusing on China’s macro-economy,structural transition and social policies from the perspective of non-Walrasian equilibrium,it highlights the theoretical underpinnings of the book and their relevance to Chinese economy.Since China’s economic problems will remain structural for a long time,the approach and findings in the book will remain relevant for China’s reform.
