Three Proposals for Preventing the Potential Damage by Building the New Countryside and Protecting the Local Cultural Landscape and the Industrial Heritage

Abstract:Three proposals to the leaders of the State Council and relevant state departments are introduced, which are that (1) The land ecological security is a matter of the highest priority of the country. For efficient protection of the fragile ecological health and safety of Chinese land, the comprehensive functional and integral structured landscape security patterns should be established; (2) The establishment of local landscape network on the Chinese land is the basis of maintaining the social harmony and stability, and the local heritage landscape is closely connected with the ecological security patterns; (3) Grand Canal heritage corridor is of strategic meaning in defending the homeland ecological security, strengthening the cultural identity, and the establishment of the North-South recreational corridor. It is a key corridor for the ecological security of the land and the cultural heritage network, and the planning should be implemented as soon as possible; (4) Industrial heritage is an integral part of the cultural heritage of mankind. The industrial heritage of modern China should be given weight and be protected as the protection of cultural relics, and be taken a scientific and rational, artistic use.
