Abstract:Main problems in the logistics education in universities are analyzed in the paper from such aspects as curriculum system, teaching facilities, methods and teaching staff construction. Findings are mainly that the curriculum system is inappropriate, and the obviously borrowed teaching contents do not match China's situation. Accordingly the paper discusses how to promote the teaching, especially emphasizing practice in the teaching.

Abstract:Facing with the global financial crisis, logistics industry should play an important role in increasing employment opportunities and promoting the growth of the whole national economy in China. Logistics Park is the main entity that affects the development of the logistics industry and the development planning and layout of a town. This paper introduces the development of the logistics park in China. We first review the relevant theory of the logistics and logistics park which came to China from Japan. We then describe the current condition of the development of Logistics Park in China and analyze the existing questions about it. Finally, we present a number of appropriate and feasible suggestions that might facilitate the development of the logistics park in China. The result shows that governments at all levels should take responsibility of scientific general planning and supervising at the same time as the logistics parks operate according to the modern management method.
Evaluating the Effects of Logistics Center Location: An Analytical Framework for Sustainable Urban Logistics

Abstract:Sustainable urban logistics require support of sustainable logistics center location planning. Nevertheless, urban public authorities generally experience difficulties in choosing a successful planning scheme, due to the lack of a rigorous analytical tool designed to help understand how logistics center location affects sustainability throughout the supply chain. A poor location can keep a firm or a supply chain from reaching its economic, environmental, and social sustainability goals. A good location can help meet these goals. To address the pressing cause of policy failure, this paper developed an analytical framework by integrating the multi-criteria decision-making method and the shortest path model with multiple objectives. The developed framework can be used to evaluate the effects of logistics center location schemes on travel time, transport costs, carbon emission, and road traffic, and further explore the conflict level among them. It is applied to Beijing in this paper. The analysis results reveal that: (1) travel time, transport costs, and carbon emissions all vary along with the distance from logistics center location to the city center; (2) encouraging cargo companies to plan their truck paths with the navigation objective of minimizing travel time is an excellent way to achieve sustainable urban logistics, because in this scenario, freight transport is the quickest, and transport costs and carbon emissions are all more moderate. Additionally, this paper confirmed the conflict level among sustainability goals of urban logistics based on actual contextual data. The proposed framework is a helpful guide tool for urban planners to develop sustainable logistics land-use planning and responsive policy interventions.

Abstract:Liquefied natural gas projects are complex and full of variability. Their plan reliability is affected by constraints arising from engineering, supply chains and construction site. Effective management of these constraints is critical to reducing project uncertainties and improve workflow. However, current approaches for constraint removal are fragmented and heavily rely on human’s commitments because the underlying data for decision-making are static and outdated. In order to tackle this problem, this paper proposes a framework of total constraint management (TCM), which consists of three main parts: constraint modelling, constraint monitoring and constraint removal. Information technologies (i.e. building information modelling, radio frequency identification, barcoding, laser scanning and photogrammetry) are also discussed and incorporated into the TCM framework so as to make it more practical and effective. A laboratory-based experiment was developed to demonstrate and evaluate the framework. The results showed that successful implementation of TCM could significantly improve construction workflow and productivity.

Abstract:From the perspective of regional logistics system planning and based on the existing method of logistics center location; this paper proposes a concept of location model of regional logistics center in reference to accessibility. Under the constraints of transportation network, geographical conditions and other factors and through the analysis of regional accessibility, this paper constructed a location model of logistics center considering the accessibility and coverage in the regional transport network, and other indicators. Finally, combined with a practical example, the paper also proves the practical application value of this model. © 2010 ASCE.

Abstract:With the rapid development of the logistics industry, Logistics center plays a very important role in a logistics system. And the location is one of the most critical factors for the effective operation of the logistics system. This paper mainly analyzes the multi-logistics centers location problem and proposes a novel approach for solving the problem. The proposed approach is developed on the basis of clustering techniques, and involves three sequential mechanisms including: determining the logistics centers' layout with improved clustering methods based on spatial equilibrium principle firstly, then finding solutions of location problem with the centroid method respectively, finally comparing the solutions and obtaining the best result In addition to methodology development, a case study was conducted to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:The objective of this paper is to optimize the location problem of single logistics center.Through a- nalysis and appraisement of continuous methods and discrete methods,the method of integrating the two is put forward.Firstly,the continuous model is brought forward that covers such factors as the price of soil,the im- pedance of traffic and the distribution of logistics service demand in different logistics centers that is caused by competition.The objective function of the model is the maximum net benefits which are brought by service de- mand and approaches for settling the model are given by adopting genetic algorithms.Secondly,the spare spots aggregate is confirmed according to the property of soil,the area requirement of logistics center,natural and traffic conditions.Finally,based on the theory of close degree,the academic optimization key is compared with spare spots so as to confirm the final spot where the logistics center is to be built.

Abstract:Carbon emission reduction and green logistics have received widespread attention from all walks of life in recent years, and the introduction of the "double carbon" target has made it urgent and imperative to achieve high-quality development of green logistics. This paper, based on the existing research results and the current situation of green logistics development, takes the shortcomings of China's green logistics development under the "double carbon" target as the starting point, conducts an in-depth analysis from three levels: awareness, policies and regulations and professional talents, and puts forward feasible suggestions and improvement countermeasures to realize the high-quality development of China's green logistics, specifically These include: cultivating social consensus on the development of green logistics, improving the green logistics policy and regulation system, and strengthening theoretical research and talent training on green logistics. It is of great practical significance to effectively promote the green development and "double carbon" goal of the whole Chinese society.

Abstract:Since the State Council issued the “Plan for the Adjustment and Revitalization of the Logistics Industry” in 2009, the logistics industry, as the basic and strategic industry in the development of the national economy, has played an increasingly important role in promoting industrial transformation and upgrading and promoting economic development. In order to promote the development of logistics industry, a large number of logistics parks have been built all over the country under the guidance of policies and the promotion of the market. However, after the construction of these logistics parks has been put into operation, There are a series of problems in its development and profit. This paper analyzes the present situation and profit of logistics park in China, and briefly analyzes the main business characteristics of freight hub, production service, port service, trade service and comprehensive service. Abstract:The frequency of accidents is high in China's logistics industry and huge damages to the society and economy are involved. The government and enterprises' safety measures to protect the logistics system are often inadequate due to lack of a good understanding of logistics safety. Thus it is necessary to have a framework of logistics safety system including several important aspects. This paper proposes a framework for four logistics functions including storage, transportation, information and transaction, in three levels: technology, processing and personal management, as a basis for an effective logistics safety system. Three modules with respect to preventions, maintenances and emergencies are summarized. Some measures for logistics safety are suggested based on the theory of securities chain.

Abstract:The objective of this paper is to optimize the allocation problem of logistics center. Through analysis and evaluation of routine continuous approaches and discrete approaches, the approach integrating the two opposites is put forward. Firstly, the continuous model is proposed which covers such factors as depreciation, traffic impedance and competitive factor. The objective function of the model is the maximum of net benefit. Secondly, genetic algorithms are adopted to solve the model. Thirdly, the spare spot set is determined according to the land property, area requirement, natural conditions and transportation environment, etc. Finally, in order to determine the final spot where the logistics center is to be built, the theoretical optimal key is compared with spare spots based on the nearness theory.

Abstract:China's logistics industry is in an important strategic opportunity period of transition from extensive traditional logistics to green logistics. In this context, from the perspective of green supply chain analysis of China's green logistics development problems, the government should put forward corresponding solutions. The research shows that the government should build a green logistics evaluation system, speed up the improvement of green logistics-related policies and regulations, and strengthen the construction of green logistics-related infrastructure. The conclusion can provide some strategic inspiration for the government to promote the development of green logistics.

Abstract:: China's logistics industry is developing at a high speed, but the distribution efficiency can't match with it, to reduce the waste of resources and costs on the way of distribution, it is crucial to study and improve the distribution center siting issue. Taking the 494 core journals on the study of logistics distribution center siting in Knowledge Network as the basic data, CiteSpace is used to visualize and analyze the related literature in this research field. Through the keyword clustering analysis, this field can be divided into four directions: the main body of research, the influence factors of site selection, the purpose of site selection, and site selection methods, and the comprehensive analysis shows that the early focus of China's research is on the site selection methods, such as genetic algorithm and center of gravity method, and the future research direction is the joint optimization of the site selection-path and the two-layer planning.
