Abstract:The purpose of the article is to study the approaches and models of color as a pictorial principle in modern Chinese painting. The article is devoted to the actual problem of the study of the artistic language of painting. In Chinese art history, it has several forms of representation. However, one of the key themes is the role of color as a central pictorial principle in contemporary fine art. The study of the role of color in painting is based on the analysis of the formal and compositional-plastic features of artwork. At the same time, color is an important factor in the interpretation of artistic signs and symbols of a particular author. The selection of color from and a number of other elements of the artistic language is associated with the influence of the traditional artistic system in the art of China on the practice of modernization. In many professional studies, we can come across an opinion about the practical significance of tonal and color solutions for substantiating the artistic imagery of a work and its ideological and aesthetic meaning. The methodology. For the analysis of sources we used the method of comparative analysis and the method of typology. Visual sources are analyzed with the use of methodological, formal, compositional and figurative-stylistic analysis. The results. In modern Chinese studies, the problem of color is a completely independent area, which is of universal importance for the analysis of the evolution of fine art. As a visual principle, the subject matter is considered within two approaches: 1) figurative-plastic, where the central place is occupied by tonal and color features in the context of the search for form and composition; 2) emotional-figurative, where the central place is occupied by the perception of color and the interpretation of the signs and symbols of the work. Within the framework of the first approach, three research models dominate: 1) figurative and artistic model, which is characterized by the ability of color to change within the framework of the author’s style idea; 2) the symbolic model focuses the artist’s attention on cultural and historical references; 3) the decorative-figurative model positions the problem of color as a matter of color morphology, as well as the use of traditional decor techniques along with oil painting methods. Within the framework of the second approach, the sign-emotive and semantic-emotive models are the main ones. The first model represents color as a factor of the author’s sign space. The second model is a tool for studying color as a part of a sign artistic language. This artistic language regulates the specific meaning of the aesthetic essence of color (for example, red in traditional symbolism is a sign of power). In this model, the semiotic feature of color is enhanced by the emotional nature of painting techniques. The scientific novelty. The article substantiates the concept of color in painting as the main pictorial principle in the contemporary fine arts of China. The research approaches of Chinese art critics are summarized.

Abstract:AbstractPosters are a more common way to convey effective information. A variety of posters convey different messages, express different languages, and contain different meanings. This article explains that in the design of posters, color is a part of its main components. Different colors, different brightnesses of different colors, and different combinations of colors can give people different visual feelings. This paper proposes that the color combination in the poster is not only reflected in the sense of visual sense, it can stimulate people’s multiple senses and create unlimited imagination. Contrast color can enhance the dynamics in the poster, giving the viewer a visual impact; the same color can express the theme of the poster, and stimulate the visual psychology of the viewer.This paper first summarizes the research background and significance of this topic, and secondly studies the different expressions and functions of color language in different scenes. By analyzing the color matching of contrasting colors in the poster and the color matching of the same color, the different usage scenarios and different color languages are explained. In the study of similar colors, the author analyzed the monochromatic color semantics and the relationship between color purity and the viewer’s emotion through investigation and experiment. Then, with the design of the constellation theme poster, a deeper study of the color language of the poster was carried out. By studying the personality characteristics of different constellations, the representative colors of different constellations were summarized and the color matching method was designed. Finally, the overall design of the constellation theme poster was completed.

Abstract:Chinese painting is a treasured art form of the Chinese nation, serving as an important cultural medium for disseminating its humanistic spirit. In current times, while Chinese painting continues to explore and inherit traditional painting techniques, it also engages in cross-border integration and innovation with other art forms. It is imperative to fully excavate the expressive mode, elements, and humanistic values of Chinese painting, selecting, analyzing, and refining the most distinctive cultural elements and applying them to the design of creative products. This paper conducts a study on the successes and challenges in the design and development of cultural and creative products based on Chinese painting through multiple case studies, with the goal of guiding it towards a path of combining protection, inheritance, and development, and to create a series of creative design works that convey the aesthetic essence of traditional Chinese painting. This research inspires innovative and practical ideas for integrating traditional culture and contemporary design research, including how Chinese painting can maximize its cultural value and aesthetic characteristics in the design of creative products, as well as the application and design methods of Chinese painting elements in the cultural and creative industry.

Abstract:Chinese traditional colors are an important component of traditional culture, containing profound national culture and unique aesthetic ideas. Analyzing and applying the color characteristics of traditional Chinese colors can integrate traditional color design concepts into contemporary design, implying a design path from tradition to the present, and meeting the diversified and personalized consumer needs of the market. This study examined consumers’ psychological perception of traditional colors using the Natural Color System and Likert scale. Factor analysis and association tests revealed color attributes and image cognitive traits. The results reveal that blackness often degrades color image judgement. Saturation influenced Tang and Qing color perception. Red, green, and blue are the ideal hues for the Tang, Song, and Qing Dynasties, respectively. Song Dynasty culture and emotions are perfectly reflected in the green color. The Ming Dynasty’s visual traits are blue, and its culture and feeling are yellow. The red color best reflects the Qing Dynasty’s cultural and emotional traits, and the blue hue best matches its aesthetic traits. The study attempts to quantify customised furniture color design and improve product color design’s cultural meaning and aesthetic effect.

Abstract:This paper presents an in-depth analysis and research on the application of intelligent image color technology in teaching Chinese painting color. A feature reorganization-based approach to Chinese painting image style migration is proposed. Using the connection between depth features in neural networks and image semantics, the artistic style expression method of traditional Chinese painting is combined with existing methods to match the feature matrix in the generative network by feature reorganization, and finally, the migrated image is generated using a decoder. The texture of the target image is input to the generator as an additional condition, and the discriminator is changed to a relativistic discriminator to build a new generative adversarial network. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the method, a large number of Chinese ink and wash style landscape paintings and natural landscape photos are used as experimental data. The experimental results show that the obtained generated images after style migration are 8% better in realism and quality. An image color intelligent analysis system was designed, which integrates a color classification module, a pigment analysis module, an output saving module, and a pigment sample library to achieve the automatic classification of different color areas in Chinese painting, and ultimately allows a judgment to be made on the most likely pigment to be used for each type of color. In the teaching of Chinese painting, the system can transform the traditional "ear-listening" color transmission through vision into eye perception, which makes the teaching of Chinese painting vivid, arouses the enthusiasm of the classroom, and greatly promotes the color teaching of Chinese painting.

Abstract:Humans have been exploring colors since ancient times, but relatively complete color systems appeared one after another in the twentieth century. Even without language and other information exchanges, colors can still convey information and stimulate emotions. Therefore, color can have both physical and psychological effects on people. In this context, this paper studies the visual representation of painting colors based on psychological factors. The article studies the theory of personality traits and introduces the related content of visual psychology. To explore the relationship between each variable and color psychology and the visual representation of painting colors, a binary logistic regression analysis is performed. The colors in the post-impressionist paintings of Van Gogh and Gauguin is contrasted, and experiments on psychological factors and color research is conducted. The factors that affect the color tone of the picture and the influence of psychological factors on the judgment of color brightness are investigated. Finally, the correlation analysis of personality trait dimension and irrational behavior is carried out. The experimental results of the article show that after the analysis of variance, the significance levels of regression model 1 and model 2 both reach 0.000, and the adjusted R squares are 0.319 and 0.356, respectively. In this study, regression model 2 was selected as the final model. According to Model 2, the standardized regression coefficients of agreeableness and neuroticism are 0.438 and -0.251, respectively, and the significance of the regression coefficients are 0.000 and 0.021, respectively. The research on the visual performance of painting colors based on psychological factors has been well completed.

Abstract:Color harmony is the hotspot of many researchers in the fields of art and design which is widely used in various artworks and design activities. As for psychology, color harmony is closely related to human's perception and cognition, although, the research of its generation process has not been fully focused on. With experimental psychology with artificial intelligence technology combined together, our aim is to investigate the factors affecting color harmony on the basis of the generation process from perception to cognition, and construct a mathematical model to predict its degree, so as to realize the quantitatively analysis and measurement of color harmony. We classify the factors affecting color harmony into objective and subjective ones. Among them, the objective factors are constructed based on the three principle elements of color with a total of 21-dimensional color-pair objective physical features extracted. And the subjective factors are divided into direct psychological effects and indirect psychological effects. 180 two-color combinations were evaluated by 30 subjects based on color harmony and its subjective factors on discrete scales ranging from −2 to 2. Correlation analysis reveals that color harmony is not only affected by objective factors, but also by subjective factors which has a stronger correlation than that of the objective ones. Finally, machine learning algorithms were adopted to construct a mathematical model, which has been proved that the linear relationship can well explain the generation mechanism of color harmony.

Abstract:Color foundation teaching is the main content of the color expression ability in the painting major of colleges and universities. The traditional color training methods are prone to being misunderstood as the cultivation of the representation techniques of objects of varying difficulties, thereby neglecting that the fundamental purpose of color foundation training is for creative expression. Compared with the traditional course model, the creative consciousness and concept guidance model is a reliable approach to address the expression issues during students' color foundation training at all stages. The traditional color teaching method of combining sketching from life and silent drawing often leads students to form passive, indiscriminate, and emotionless simulations of objects, causing the objects themselves to lose their significance of being depicted. The color lacks directionality and expressive purpose. Works overly rely on the accidental effects produced by unconscious object projection or the meticulousness of work processing, resulting in "sketching" becoming "stifled sketching". The creative consciousness and concept guidance model emphasizes extracting the characteristics of objects. Educators attach importance to discovering and affirming the accidental writing and incompleteness that occur during students' color practice, helping students create their own color imagery based on the objects they are representing at any stage of color learning.

With the rise of ink painting and the development of literati painting, the expression of landscape painting gradually transformed, green and heavy colors gradually lost their dominant position, and ink painting gradually became the dominant style in the Chinese painting world, with the use of color gradually weakening. Especially in the Song and Yuan Dynasties.
