A Methodological Reflection on Mental Health Education and Research in China——Simultaneously with a Discussion About the Methodological Value of "People in the Environment"

Abstract:An exploration into the methodology of the flourishing mental health education and research in China is very important. From a methodological perspective, the article reflected on the defects of research on mental health education which dealt with mental disorders with stress on mental operations, claimed that the central methodology of social work, i.e., "people in the environment" , should be brought in, and demonstrated the methodological value of "people in the environment" in students' mental health education from these aspects: advanced consciousness and socialization, the interaction of mental factors and non-mental factors, basic demands and social satisfaction, and structurational theory in sociology.
