Expression of osteopontin and NF-кB p65 in non-small cell lung cancer

Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between the expressions of osteopontin(OPN)and nuclear factor-κB p65(NF-κB p65)and the clinicopathologic characteristics of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of OPN and NF-κB in NSCLC of 80 cases and normal lung tissues of 21 cases.Survival analysis was performed statistically to reaveal the relationship between the expressions of OPN and NF-κB p65 and the clinicopathologic characteristics and servival time of NSCLC.Results The positive expression rates of OPN and NF-κB were 63.75% and 61.25%,respectively,in 80 patients with NSCLC,and 23.81% and 9.52%,respectively,in 21 normal lung tissues.The expressions of OPN and NF-κB p65 were significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis and clinical stages.OPN was correlated with histological classification.OPN and NF-κB p65 would be the negative prognostic factors.There were positive correlations between OPN and NF-κBp65.Conclusion Overexpressions of OPN and NF-κB p65 is presented in NSCLC,which predicates a poor prognosis.
