Abstract:PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) is successfully applied in Huzhou Central Hospital, and is well integrated with its HIS system by WEBSERVICE middleware. The system supports DICOM 3.0 Standard, and DICOM gateways are installed for modalities that do not support DICOM so as to have implemented the digitalization of all the image departments in the hospital.

Abstract:To increase the efficiency and accuracy of obtaining, storing and analysis of examination data, this paper developed an examination data analysis and evaluation platform based on cloud computing technologies. First of all, the examination data base was constructed based on data OLAP. Then, an examination analysis system was developed according to the application experience from the users. Finally, an education and examination data analysis and evaluation platform was developed based on cloud computing technology. The practical applications from more than 100 cities in 16 provinces showed that this platform can increase the efficiency of the examination data obtaining, storing, analysis, and evaluation for the education management department, school, teacher and student. Currently, this platform has owned more 40 % market share of the education and examination data services in China.

Abstract:The examination management of colleges and universities is an important part of the management of education and teaching in colleges and universities, which is crucial to the adjustment of talent training plan of colleges and universities, and is the foundation and guarantee of education management of colleges and universities. The current examination management in private colleges and universities still has many problems that need to be optimized because of its confidentiality, redundancy and seriousness. In this paper, we analyze the problems such as imperfect information management system, inconsistent quality of examination supervision and shift of examination administration in the current examination administration in private colleges and universities, and put forward targeted suggestions for optimization, such as establishing a sound information-based examination administration system, strengthening the training of examination administration personnel and refining the responsibility of examination administration, in order to provide reference for the future examination administration in private colleges and universities.

Abstract:To work over the performance parameters of each function in a PACS when it is running smoothly,so that we can find the advantageous data base and proper solutions for evaluation of systemic stability and data reliability.Test the existing Medical Picture Archiving and Communication Systems for the performance parameters of each function,then the final statistical data can be approached combined with the hospital's own growth situation.We can find the solutions and the fine design to improve systemic stability and reliability after taking into account with all the data from testing,statistics result,existing issue and so on.Introduce the experience about system construction and application of PACS by our practical application and the real data from system testing,which can certainly be a study resource for success in PACS future application.
Preliminary Research on Quality Control of PACS Image Display Device

Abstract:Objective To study the quality assurance(QA) and quality control(QC) of PACS image display device in the department of radiology equipped with PACS and radiology information system (RIS). Methods Routine maintenance and periodic calibration were performed using photometer and automatic calibration software according to American Association of Physicists in Medicine Task Group 18 (AAPM TG18) test patterns and evaluating criterion. Digital image and communication in medicine (DICOM) gray scale standard display function (GSDF) standard calibration ,maximum luminance and minimum luminance,luminance uniformity,display resolution and geometry distortion adjustment were performed quarterly on BARCO CRT displays. Results All the results were well conformed to the criteria recommended by the AAPM TG18. About 95 percents of radiological images were interpreted on the PACS diagnostic image display.Conclusion The QC program of PACS image display device is an essential to ensure high-quality in digital medical environment.

Abstract:Objective To explore the effective approaches in information recognition rate improving for picture archiving and communication system (PACS) centralized printing system.Methods Possible factors that impact information recognition rate wereanalyzed,and then proposed the relevant optimizing solutions respectively by configuring the modality printing parameters and adjusting the radiology information system accession number (RIS ACCESSION NUMBER) matching rules.Results Effectiveness and accuracy were enhanced significantly through testing at Central Printing System by using these approaches.Conclusion These methods improve effectively the film information recognition rate and provide important technical support for digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) centralized printing system.

Abstract:An electronic medical record(EMR)system is built at urban community health centers to optimize services,achieving information integration of outpatient medical services based on the doctors' workstation.This system has optimized service at the outpatient clinics in the following:1.Digitizing service processes for higher efficiency and service quality; 2.Using EMR templates to save doctors' time in writing medical records for more of their time in patient inquiries and checks; 3.Using LIS,PACs and ECG/EKC systems to check lab results and imaging diagnostics of patients; 4.Using the diagnostic and therapy record sub-system to check electronic records of the patients for consulting their health history;5.Using the Shanghai Medical Alliance's(SMA)shared sub-system to acquire patients' medical records at SMA medical institutions,learning their conditions for their therapies.EMR,when it is built and put into use,can help improve GP's diagnostics and therapeutics,and provide better care to the outpatients as well.

Abstract:Huadong hospital in Shanghai with 700 beds provides health care services for inpatients and outpatients, as well as special senior and VIP patients. In order to move to digital imaging based radiology practice, and also provide better intra-hospital clinical services for senior and VIP patients, we started designing and planning PACS implementation from September of 1999. Based on the radiology service model and current workflow in Huadong hospital, we implemented PACS in following steps: In phase I, we designed PALS infrastructure and implemented PACS networks connecting to most digital modalities, reading rooms and clinical buildings, we also built NT-based module PALS for every kind of digital imaging modality with DICOM communication capability. In phase II, we developed an UNIX based PACS central server connecting to the individual module PACS for image routing, querying and retrieving among different departments and modality sections, and also installed specially designed interactive teleconsultation display workstations in radiology sections and clinical departments for consultation services. In phase III, we will integrate RIS into PACS infrastructure to optimize PACS dataflow and improve radiology workflow to achieve better performance and more efficient services. In this presentation, we will also discuss the PACS design strategies and implementation methods in Huadong hospitals to decrease the risks and to increase the positive responses from the partners and end users.

Abstract:In CT examination, the emergency patients (EPs) have highest priorities in the queuing system and thus the general patients (GPs) have to wait for a long time. This leads to a low degree of satisfaction of the whole patients. The aim of this study is to improve the patients’ satisfaction by designing new queuing strategies for CT examination. We divide the EPs into urgent type and emergency type and then design two queuing strategies: one is that the urgent patients (UPs) wedge into the GPs’ queue with fixed interval (fixed priority model) and the other is that the patients have dynamic priorities for queuing (dynamic priority model). Based on the data from Radiology Information Database (RID) of West China Hospital (WCH), we develop some discrete event simulation models for CT examination according to the designed strategies. We compare the performance of different strategies on the basis of the simulation results. The strategy that patients have dynamic priorities for queuing makes the waiting time of GPs decrease by 13 minutes and the degree of satisfaction increase by 40.6%. We design a more reasonable CT examination queuing strategy to decrease patients’ waiting time and increase their satisfaction degrees.

Abstract:Objective:To investigate and survey the service condition of clinical clients in order to work in with upgrade of PACS.Methods: According to the method of random questionnaire to clinicians, we analysis and summary the application situation of PACS system.Results: There are 52 clinicians from 14 departments participated in the questionnaire, and the results show the application situation is good, but it also reflects some problems to be improved and some new demands.Conclusion: The PACS system has become an indispensable tools in medical treatment work, performance of clinical clients directly affects the medical quality.

The idea of a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and a filmless hospital was created in the early 1980s. Abstract:The qualitative and quantitative research methods was applied to research on picture archiving and communication systems (PACS)'s cost,effectiveness and efficacy. The results showed that PACS optimized the service procedure. The average time of imaging is 10 minutes which is 20 minutes less than control group. Appling PACS improve the economic efficacy. The average cost of every film is 29.91 yuan after using PACS and 39.03 yuan in control center. The service quality was also improved after using PACS system.

Abstract:In recent years, the scale of the health examination business has increased rapidly, and research on the combinatorial optimization of medical examinations has become more important. In this context, a special large-scale flexible open shop scheduling problem (FOSP) is introduced based on the idea of the multi-processor open shop scheduling problem. A mixed integer programming model is developed for the FOSP, which regards client satisfaction as the most important objective. As the FOSP is particularly complex, three different intelligent optimization algorithms are examined, namely a genetic algorithm, hybrid particle swarm optimization, and simulated annealing. According to the medical examination preferences of the clients, a group of large-scale test problems are created on the basis of benchmark instances of the flexible job shop problem, and these are used to evaluate the performance of each algorithm. The experimental results show that the genetic algorithm outperforms both simulated annealing and hybrid particle swarm optimization, especially in large-scale problems.

Abstract:Computer-based Patient record (CPR) has been used in Chinese PLA General Hospital since 2000, meanwhile, network real-time quality supervision was established. It is obvious that on-line examination on CPR has much superiority including time saving, convenient, finding CPR content default in time and promoting work efficiency. But in this supervision system, it is difficult to distinguish the authenticity of the copied records and the signature on printed documents, and monitor records modified. Aiming at the above limitation, we advanced some countermeasures to improve the quality online CPR management.
