Expression of PAX8, Tubulin and Calretinin in ovarian mucinous tumors and clear cell cancer

Abstract:Purpose To explore the origin of ovarian mucinous tumors and clear cell cancer by the expression of secretory cell marker PAX8,ciliated cell marker Tubulin and mesothelial cell marker Calretinin.Methods The expression of PAX8,Tubulin and Calretinin was detected in normal oviduct epithelium,normal ovarian epithelium,ovariann mucinous cystadenoma,ovarian borderline mucinous cystadenoma,ovarian mucinous carcinoma and ovarian clear cell cancer.Results The percentages of positive cells of PAX8 in normal oviduct epithelium,normal ovarian epithelium,ovariann mucinous cystadenoma,ovarian borderline mucinous cystadenoma,ovarian mucinous carcinoma and ovarian clear cell cancer were(76.29 ± 2.17) %,0,(7.38 ± 3.25) %,(8.57 ± 3.19) %,(85.00 ± 13.78) %,(86.44 ± 10.82) %.Those of Tubulin were(18.07 ± 0.75) %,(3.57 ± 3.56) %,(3.13 ± 2.12)%,(7.14 ± 4.13) %,(87.75 ± 3.50) %,(77.22 ± 14.60) %.And those of Calretinin were: 0,(8.36 ± 0.75) %,0,0,0,and 0,respectively.Conclusions The origin of ovariann mucinous cystadenoma and ovarian borderline mucinous cystadenoma may be still unclear,ovarian mucinous carcinoma may partly originate from the oviduct,and ovarian clear cell cancer probably originates from the epithelium of fallopian tube.
