Research on the Children's Recreation Facilities——in Fuxing and Wujing Park in Shanghai

Abstract:This research will study children’s playgrounds in Shanghai Fuxing and Wujing Park, from three aspects as recreation facilities, environment and the management. Results showed that: ① children’s recreation facilities in two parks are relatively monotonous; ② the grounds of children’s playground in these two parks are all lack of wear-resistant, flexible pavement; ③ children’s playgrounds in these two parks are the same on the trend of visitor number, the number on workday few, sudden rises in the number of people over the weekends. Analyze the problems and comes up with strategies: ① the facilities should be arranged in different areas according to children’s age and the nature of the game, forming children’s playground system in the park; ② to improve the environment of the playground; ③ the management should focus on weekends and holidays, enhancing the research on facilities and management, to take corresponding measures.
