Abstract:Development of metropolitan innovation system(MIS) theory can satisfy the urgent trend of global innovation resources allocation,as well as the main direction of making up the regional innovation system theory.The paper,by exploring the definition and nature of metropolitan innovation system,generalizes both the research basis and the significance of MIS from the practical and theoretical view,and brings the theoretical framework and five key research directions of MIS,including the basis theory of MIS,supporting environment,innovation mode,operation mechanism and evolution of MIS.
