Abstract:Objective:The aim of present study was to identify the compliance pattern in older stroke survivor to three kinds of health behaviors recommended by doctors.Methods:241 stroke survivors were interviewed with Stroke Behavior Change Inventory(SBCI) and Fundamental Information Inventory.Results:①Compliance in elder-adults to all kinds of health behaviors were improved after stroke.②Compliance to the harmful substance avoidance was the highest.Compliance to the health practices was better than the preventive health care. There were significant differences between the three categories behaviors.③Although compliance to both health practices and preventive health care in male patients was similar to that in female patients, the compliance in male patients to harmful substance avoidance was significantly worse than the counterpart in female patients. There were however significant gaps in the compliance to all kinds of behaviors between patients from cities and those from countries.Especially in the preventive health care, the difference was more evident between the two groups. Conclusion:The patients show the worst compliance to preventive health care and the best to harmful substance avoidance. This compliance pattern is relatively stable, despite of the existence of difference in different gender and between patients from cites and from countries.
