Investigation on RE Ion Nitro-carbnrizing Treatment Used for 3Cr2W8V Die Casting Mold

Abstract:This paper studies the RE Ion nitro-carbonizing technology for the 3Cr2W8V steel casting mold surface treatment by using 4%RE、520℃×2h,and 1.05kPa atmospheric pressure.Performance test results show that The optimization of these parameters makes the surface hardness,wear resistance,high temperature oxidation resistance,thermal fatigue properties and corrosion resistance of the treated layer significantly improved.A test with the use of this technology has been done for the 3Cr2W8V steel automotive lamp aluminum casting mold.The experimental results show that the treated layer has optimal qualities,which can meet the requirements in practice.
