CFD Numerical Simulation of the Internal Flow Field of the Vertical Pipe of the Texaco Coal Gasifier

Abstract:The parameters as well as the operation philosophy of the vertical pipe of the Texaco coal gasifier were discussed.By using the CFD software,the cold-state simulation of the gas flow distribution of the vertical pipe under normal operation conditions was performed,and performed also was the simulation under such abnormal conditions as partial plugging,symmetrical plugging,non-symmetrical plugging at the slag discharge end.The result showed that plugging at the slag discharge end causes bias gas flow in the vertical pipe.
