Comparison of three dimensional color power angiography with pathology on placental villous vessels in normal pregnancy

Abstract:Objective To compare the performance of three-dimensional color power angiography with pathology in the visualization of intraplacental vessel trees.Methods Total 32 normal singleton pregnant women with 20～39 weeks gestation were examined with 3-D color power angiography to observe the branches of the intraplacental villous vascular trees, which were observed with electron micrographs after dilivery.Rusults The branches of the intraplacental villous vascular trees observed by 3-D color power angiography were the same as the pathology. The presentation rate of the first, second and third stem villous vessels by 3-D color power angiography was 100% and 100% and 90%. There was no visualization of the small villous vessels.Conclusion The intraplacental villous vessels could be visualized on 3-D color power angiography, which may be used to evaluate the placental function of high-risk pregnancy.
