Abstract:By peeping at the sun through the window and looking at the moon in the open,Zhi Daolin refers to the two different approaches and attitudes adopted respectively by the northerners and the southerners in doing their scholarly research..The author of the present paper holds the viewthat those two terms are most suitable for expoun-ding artists' conceptions.The works selected for 2006 Art Exhibition of a Hundred Oil Paintings in Nanjing China display the impacts of the regional differences between the south and the north on howartists express the reality.This paper makes a special comparison between several works of art from Jiangsu and some from the north,and attempts to expound and verify the subtle relationship between the regional differences and art creation,wishing to provide some reference for further creation of artists.
