Abstract:We introduce real vector cone metric spaces, where cone metric is the mapping on a real vector space without topological structures. We also prove some new fixed point theorems in real vector cone metric spaces. By using nonlinear scalarization functions, we establish the equivalence between these and some other fixed point results in metric and in real vector cone metric spaces. Our results improve and generalize some results from the literature.

Abstract:The fixed point theorem of cone expansion and compression of norm type for a strict set contraction operator is generalized by replacing the norms with a convex functional satisfying certain conditions. We then show how to apply our theorem to prove the existence of a positive solution to a second-order differential equation with integral boundary conditions in an ordered Banach space. An example is worked out to demonstrate the main results.

Abstract:We establish two fixed point theorems for nonlinear operators on Banach spaces partially ordered by a cone. The first fixed point theorem is concerned with a class of mixed monotone operators. In the second fixed point theorem, the nonlinear operators are neither monotone nor mixed monotone. We also provide an illustrative example for our second result.

Abstract:A general fixed point theorem for isometries in terms of metric functionals is proved under the assumption of the existence of a conical bicombing. It is new for isometries of convex sets of Banach spaces as well as for non-locally compact CAT(0)-spaces and injective spaces. Examples of actions on non-proper CAT(0)-spaces come from the study of diffeomorphism groups, birational transformations, and compact Kähler manifolds. A special case of the fixed point theorem provides a novel mean ergodic theorem that in the Hilbert space case implies von Neumann's theorem. The theorem accommodates classically fixed-point-free isometric maps such as those of Kakutani, Edelstein, Alspach and Prus. Moreover, from the main theorem together with some geometric arguments of independent interest, one can deduce that every bounded invertible operator of a Hilbert space admits a nontrivial invariant metric functional on the space of positive operators. This is a result in the direction of the invariant subspace problem although its full meaning is dependent on a future determination of such metric functionals.

Among the other results, we prove that recent fixed point theorems of Wardowski (2012) and Jleli and Samet (2014) are equivalent to a special case of the well-known fixed point theorem of Skof (1977).

Abstract:The purpose of this paper was to introduce several $ b $-generalized contractive mappings in the framework of cone $ b $-metric spaces over Banach algebras. The obtained contractions generalized and extended the counterparts in metric spaces, cone metric spaces, and $ b $-metric spaces. Moreover, via weakening the completeness of the spaces, we gave some fixed point theorems for asymptotically regular mappings without considering the orbital continuity and $ k $-continuity of the mappings. Those who need a specification is our results do not rely on the continuity of $ b $-metric and the normality of cones. In addition, some nontrivial examples were presented to illustrate the superiority of our fixed point theorems.

Abstract:In this article, we first establish a series of user-friendly versions of fixed point theorems in cones for sum of two operators with one being either contractive or expansive and the other being compact, one of which covers the classical Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem concerning cone expansion and compression of norm type. Along the way, we also offer some sufficient conditions which slightly relax the compactness requirement on the one summand operator. Second, as applications to some of our main results, we consider the eigenvalue problems of Krasnoselskii type in critical case and the existence of one positive solution to one parameter operator equations. Finally, to illustrate the usefulness and the applicability of our fixed point results, we study the existence of one nontrivial positive solution to certain integral equations of Hammerstein type and of perturbed Volterra type.

Abstract:This paper explores fixed points for both contractive and non-contractive mappings in traditional b-metric spaces, preordered b-metric spaces, and random b-metric spaces. Our findings provide insights into the behavior of mappings under various constraints and extend our approach to include coincidence and common fixed-point theorems in these spaces. We present new examples and graphical representations for the first time, offering novel results and enhancing several related findings in the literature, while broadening the scope of earlier works of Ran and Reurings, Nieto and Rodríguez-López, Górnicki, and others.

Abstract:In this paper we extend the coupled fixed point theorems for mixed monotone operators $F:X \times X \rightarrow X$ obtained in [T.G. Bhaskar, V. Lakshmikantham, \textit{Fixed point theorems in partially ordered metric spaces and applications}, Nonlinear Anal. \textbf{65} (2006) 1379-1393] and [N.V. Luong and N.X. Thuan, \textit{Coupled fixed points in partially ordered metric spaces and application}, Nonlinear Anal. \textbf{74} (2011) 983-992], by weakening the involved contractive condition. An example as well an application to nonlinear Fredholm integral equations are also given in order to illustrate the effectiveness of our generalizations.

Abstract:It is known that a strict contraction on a complete metric space with a graph possesses a fixed point. In the present paper, we show that this property holds for single valued and set-valued self-mappings of metric spaces with graphs that are of the contractive type. We also show the convergence of iterates of these mappings to fixed points. In particular, our results are true for metric spaces with symmetric graphs.

Abstract:In this article, we introduce two multivalued contractive mappings within the framework of Hausdorff controlled metric spaces, employing concepts of admissibility and C ‐class functions. The first mapping is a (β∗,ζ) ‐generalized contractive multivalued mapping, and the second is a (β,W(ζ,ξ)) ‐multivalued mapping. We establish conditions guaranteeing the existence of fixed points for these mappings. To support our theoretical findings, we provide a numerical example, demonstrating the independence of the contractive conditions for the mappings. Furthermore, we apply our results to a specific problem in polynomial equations. These findings complement several existing results in the literature.
