Abstract:A zero-voltage switching (ZVS) grid-connected full-bridge inverter and its modulation schemes are investigated. A novel sinusoidal pulse width modulation scheme for the ZVS full-bridge inverter (ZVS SPWM) is proposed in this paper. The ZVS SPWM is evolved from the double-frequency SPWM by adding gate drive to the auxiliary switch. The ZVS condition is analyzed and the circulation loss of the resonant branch is optimized by adjusting the energy storage in the resonant inductor. The reverse recovery of the body-diode of MOSFET is relieved and ZVS is realized for both main and auxiliary switches. The filter inductors are significantly reduced with higher switching frequency. The design guideline of resonant parameters and the implementation of ZVS SPWM in DSP controller are introduced. The ZVS SPWM scheme is verified on a 3-kW inverter prototype. According to the experimental result, peak efficiency as 98.8% is achieved.

Abstract:By analyzing the basic principle of voltage space-vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM), a sort of digital arithmetic is expatiated and the hardware and software of frequency regulating speed system for SVPWM are designed with DSP as its core in this paper. The results of experiment indicate that the system has a higher control precision and better dynamic capability, and the system can decrease obviously current harmonic component of inverter and harmonic wear of motor, and debase torque bouncing.\;

Abstract:A Zero-Voltage Switching single-phase grid-connected inverter and its zero voltage switching modulation scheme (ZVS SPWM) have been proposed to increase efficiency and power density before. With an auxiliary resonant circuit, all the switching devices are able to realize zero-voltage switching turn-on with ZVS-SPWM. It is found that ZVS-SPWM affects the output power quality. The output voltage model of zero-voltage switching single-phase inverter is deduced and the influence of resonant process and dead time on the low-order harmonics is evaluated. An improved ZVS control strategy is proposed and verified on a 3kW prototype.

Abstract:Active Power Decoupling (APD) is used for single-phase inverter to cope with the double-line frequency power pulsation in the inverter DC side. In this paper, zero-voltage switching (ZVS) for the single-phase inverter with APD is introduced. A ZVS SPWM scheme for single-phase inverter with APD is proposed. The operation of the ZVS single-phase inverter with APD is analyzed and ZVS conditions are derived. Finally, a 500kHz 1.5kW prototype is built to verify the theoretical analysis.

Abstract:The paper first presents a new space vector pulse width modulation method(SVPWM),and then the deduction,verification and simulation based on the software of Matlab.The novel SVPWM and the classical SVPWM were implemented in the digital signal processor(DSP) of TMS320LF2407,and the execution time of two programs were compared.Simulation and experiment results show that the new method features easy computation and higher utilization of the DC-link voltage,and optimizable switching frequency,so it promises wide application in future.

Abstract:The research prospect of the three-level pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter and the control principle of space vector PWM (SVPWM) are introduced. A SVPWM method based on the measurement of the DC link voltage and the direction of the neutral-point current is presented to solve the problem of neutral-point voltage balancing. The disposals of sub-pulse and the dead-time are proposed, and the arrangement of vectors in the sub-area of pie slice is provided. The scheme of SVPWM implemented by DSP LF2407A is introduced. The validity of the scheme for solving neutral-point voltage balancing and the convenience of the realization by DSP are demonstrated by the experimental results.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the relationship of three-level and two-level pulse width modulation (PWM) methods. A scheme of three-level Space-Vector PWM (SVPWM) based on one chip DSP is proposed depends on two groups of three-phase traditional PWM cell integrated in DSP. Neutral-point balance is achieved by adjusting the output voltage vectors based on the neutral-point current judging. Abstract:The interest in multi-phase (number of phase higher than three) machines for high performance applications has been growing in recent years due to their potential advantages over three-phase machines. This paper presents an approach to implement sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) in a multi-phase inverter. A universal multi-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) is constructed, which is based on a digital experimental platform controlled by DSP and FPGA. SPWM technique is chosen and realized in this multi-phase VSI. The mathematical model of nine-phase concentrated winding induction machine is indicated and the proposed SPWM scheme is tested on this nine-phase concentrated winding AC induction machine. The experiment results show that the SPWM VSI discussed in this paper benefits from its simplicity and flexibility for a multi-phase induction motor drive system.

Abstract:Three-phase inverters are usually required to output reactive power in electric machine drives, renewable energy generation, static var generators, and other power electronic systems. Therefore, the inverter may operate within wide power factor angle range. However, the traditional zero-voltage-switching space vector modulation (ZVS-SVM) method for three-phase inverters is only applicable when power factor angle is between -π/6 and +π/6. In this article, a general ZVS-SVM method for three-phase inverter with arbitrary output is proposed. The principles for vector selection and vector sequence arrangement are discussed in detail. With only one switching operation of the auxiliary switch in each switching cycle, ZVS of all switches can be achieved. Operation stage analyses and ZVS condition of the inverter with the proposed method are introduced. In addition, the resonant parameters design considerations and loss analyses are investigated. Finally, the proposed ZVS-SVM method is verified by the experiment.

Abstract:In today's renewable energy power generation systems, inverters have become key devices connected between energy sources and power grids. The newly presented quasi-Z-source inverter (qZSI) has the unique advantages of boosting DC bus voltage without additional boost link, lower component ratings, as well as constant DC input current compared with the traditional Z-source inverter. To better design the control schemes of this novel topology, the small-signal model is deduced using state variables perturbance mathematical analysis. By this model, the voltage-current closed-loop control of shoot-through duty cycle is designed. The space vector PWM (SVPWM) technique is modified to satisfy the particularity of qZSI. Simulation results certify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed model and control strategies and demonstrate the applicability of qZSI technology to overcome the disturbances from DC link or AC loads in renewable energy power generation systems.

Abstract:A compact algorithm of space vector pulsewidth modulation (SVPWM) for three-phase inverters is proposed and developed in this paper. Simplified by the proposed method, the conventional SVPWM is decomposed into fast integer operations entirely by using an intermediate vector, which will properly counteract the redundant calculations of the remaining procedures. This concept can not only simplify a two-level scheme, but is also suited for multilevel implementation. Since it can be implemented without any multiplier or divider, the fast algorithm is especially suitable for field programmable gate array applications. Then, an area- and speed-efficient IP-core based on this algorithm is built and tested. It ensures lower hardware resource usage, and at the same time, operates several times faster than some reported examples. Finally, experimental results obtained from a dc–ac inverter prototype are presented to verify the viability and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract:Based on the traditional space-vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM) algorithm for three-level inverter,a fast SVPWM algorithm was realized by using a "DSP+FPGA" combination.With the control method,the new method was carried out based on FPGA and DSP.The maximum utilization of the resources was realized,the rapiditay of the inverter control was improved,the more resources were provided for the grid connected experiment.Finally,simulation and experimental results were compared.It shows high degree of concordance.

Abstract:A new SVPWM method used to control a six-phase dual stator induction motor is presented in this paper. By using decomposition technique, 12 vectors which have maximum magnitude are used to form a 12-side polygon and 12 sectors. The voltage reference vector is synthesized by two vectors with maximum magnitude, in which one vector is the sector's side and the other is the adjacent sector's side. This method corresponds to synthesizing the reference vector in individual three-phase VSIs. Simulation results, obtained from an 18-kW prototype machine, are presented.

Abstract:Aiming at the low utilization rate of dc voltage H-bridge inverter and the complicated structure and the poor economic effect of double-H-bridge inverter in the control of two-phase BLDC,study on the inverter and the control strategy of two-phase BLDC was carried out,and a space vector pulse-width modulation(SVPWM) system of two-phase BLDC which used six-switch inverter was proposed.A two-phase BLDC control system which used double close loops of speed and current control was simulated through Matlab/Simulink.The control performance and the dc voltage utilization rate were tested by using PSoC.The results indicate that the system can realize the quick control of speed and the current of two-phase BLDC,and improve the utilization rate of bus voltage.The method is proved to be of great significance.

Abstract:Error voltage vectors caused by dead-time effects of PWM inverter were given, the vector synthesis method was adapted to educe amplitude and phase formulas of synthesized voltage vector produced by 3-phase stator windings under dead-time effects, the characteristic of synthesized voltage vector was analyzed with simulations. In order to make practical conduct time equal to ideal given time of switching devices, a dead-time compensation method based on time was proposed, simple arithmetic was obtained with the characteristic of space vector PWM (SVPWM). A dead-time compensation method based on voltage was proposed also to eliminate error voltage vector, compensation formulas were calculated in 3-phase and 2-phase static reference frame respectively corresponding to SPWM and SVPWM. Experimental results show that the proposed method can make motor phase current waveform sinusoidal, and improved the output performance of the inverter.
Unified Control Technique for Z-Source Inverter

Abstract:Based on space-vector PWM (SVPWM) techniques, this paper proposes a new unified voltage vector of the Z-source inverter, which is composed of the traditional voltage vector and the unique boost factor of the Z-source inverter. On the basis of this unified voltage vector, a close- loop unified control technique is proposed from the viewpoint of global inverter operation, which can improve the stability of the inverter system, keep the minimum voltage stress across the switches with variable input voltage, and implement the linear control of the output voltage. In addition, only the output voltage needs to be sensed in the unified control technique, unlike the traditional control methods that use both the output and capacitor voltages. This control method is also simple and easy implementation for digital control. Furthermore, various conventional voltage-source inverters (VSI) SVPWM control strategies (include internal current control) can be applied to the unified control technique. The feasibility of the proposed control method has been verified by the simulation and experimental results.
