Abstract:Objective To discuss the causation and clinical treatment of complication for thoracolumbar fracture with transpedicle screws fixation.Methods From 1998 to 2005,A total of 156 cases that had thoracolumbar fracture were treated with posterior transpedicle screws fixation.There were 30 cases of T12 fracture,86 cases of L1 fracture,22 cases of L2 fracture,16 cases of L3 fracture,2 cases of multiple fracture.The average period between injury and treatment was 52 hours.Results All cases were followed up for 2～36 months.Of the 156 cases,pedicle screws broken in 6 cases,loosened in 2 cases,connective rod loosened in 3 cases,infection occurred in 1 case.Conclusion Many complications can be avoided if we master well fixation technique of thoracolumbar fracture,reduce surgical trauma,which helps physiologic postural contour restoration and facilitates neural recovery.
