Abstract:The Grand Imperial Eunuch is the first bureau in the imperial court in the early Ming Dynasty,replaced by the Eunuch from the board of rites and ceremonies.Considering the significant changes of the system of eunuchs,academies generally think it as the promotion of the eunuch in rites and ceremonies,unfortunately neglecting the interactive relationship between the ups and downs of the Grand Imperial and rites and ceremonies.This paper aims to view Zheng He's traveling to the West from a new perspective and make a slight investigation into the changes of the first bureau in the imperial court.Zheng He,an eunuch in the imperial household in the early Yong Le Year,holds an eminent position in the first bureau in the imperial court,whose role in the decision-making of traveling should be reviewed.It is trying to analyze the responsibility of the Grand Imperial Eunuch in order to illustrate the direct correlation between his traveling and moving the capitol to Beijing.Bringing back foreign treasures is the main mission of his traveling and 28-year diplomatism overseas that makes him prominent and further after he was sent to NanJing,which is considered as a transition from servants for the emperor or government officers to construction commander and afterwards in the imperial storehouse.His traveling leads to the alienation of the core system of the imperial court and is the key point to the loss of its position in the first bureau.
