Abstract:In this paper, we discuss nonnegative periodic solutions for generalized Cohen-Grossberg neural networks. Without assuming strict positivity and boundedness of the amplification functions, the dynamics of periodic Cohen-Grossberg neural networks are studied. By applying a direct method, sufficient conditions guaranteeing the existence and global asymptotic stability of nonnegative periodic solution are derived. Also the criterion does not depend on the assumption for amplification functions being upper and low bounded or the external inputs.

Abstract:In this letter, we discuss the dynamics of the Cohen-Grossberg neural networks. We provide a new and relaxed set of sufficient conditions for the Cohen-Grossberg networks to be absolutely stable and exponentially stable globally. We also provide an estimate of the rate of convergence.

Abstract:The existence and global asymptotic stability of a large class of Cohen-Grossberg neural networks is discussed in this paper. Previous papers always assume that the amplification function has positive lower and upper bounds, which excludes a large class of functions. In our paper, it is only needed that the amplification function is positive. Also, the model discussed is general, the method used is direct and the conditions needed are weak.

Abstract:Qualitative property for a class of the delayed Cohen–Grossberg neural network with high-order terms is investigated in the paper. Periodic solution is rigorously proved to be exist in this class of models by means of the Gains and Mawhin’s continuation theorem. In addition, sufficient conditions are established for both global exponential and asymptotical stability of the existent periodic solution with the aid of the Lyapunov functional and the theory of linear matrix inequality (LMI). Finally, two examples with their numerical simulations are provided to illustrate the possible application of our criteria.

Without assuming bounded conditions on these activation functions, we establish some sufficient conditions on the existence and global exponential stability of almost periodic solutions for Cohen-Grossberg neural networks on time scales. Abstract:Abstract This paper is concerned with the existence and global exponential stability of the periodic solution of delayed Cohen–Grossberg neural networks (CGNNs) with discontinuous activation functions. The activations considered herein are non-decreasing but not required to be Lipschitz or continuous. Based on differential inclusion theory, Lyapunov functional theory and Leary–Schauder alternative theorem, some sufficient criteria are derived to ensure the existence and global exponential stability of the periodic solution. In order to show the superiority of the obtained results, an application and some detailed comparisons between some existing related results and our results are presented. Finally, some numerical examples are also illustrated.

Abstract:In the present paper, we investigate both the global exponential stability and the existence of a periodic solution of a general differential equation with unbounded distributed delays. The main stability criterion depends on the dominance of the non-delay terms over the delay terms. The criterion for the existence of a periodic solution is obtained with the application of the coincide degree theorem. We use the main results to get criteria for the existence and global exponential stability of periodic solutions of a generalized higher-order periodic Cohen-Grossberg neural network model with discrete-time varying delays and infinite distributed delays. Additionally, we provide a comparison with the results in the literature and a numerical simulation to illustrate the effectiveness of some of our results.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the global exponential stability of the Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with time delays, we derive a general sufficient condition ensuring global stability of the neural networks by constructing a novel Lyapunov functional and carefully estimating its derivative. The main advantage of the proposed condition is the drop of the absolute symbol from the absolute values of the self feedback connection weights, thus improves some existing conditions. As a result, some stability conditions for the Cohen-Grossberg neural network without delays are also derived, which generalize and unify some previous results.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss delayed Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with time-varying and distributed delays and investigate their global asymptotical stability of the equilibrium point. The model proposed in this paper is universal. A set of sufficient conditions ensuring global convergence and globally exponential convergence for the Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with time-varying and distributed delays are given. Most of the existing models and global stability results for Cohen-Grossberg neural networks, Hopfield neural networks and cellular neural networks can be obtained from the theorems given in this paper.

Abstract:This work is dedicated to exploring the globally exponential stability of anti-periodic solutions in inertial CGNNs that incorporate time delays. This is based on a strategic variable substitution to transform the complex system into a first-order differential equation. By leveraging the Lyapunov functional and demonstrating uniformly converging properties, we establish sufficient conditions that guarantee the existence and global exponential stability of anti-periodic solutions for the system. Finally, examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained theoretical results. This work contributes significantly to enhancing our understanding of the stability dynamics in neural networks with time delays and provides valuable insights for applications across various fields.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the global exponential stability for a class of Cohen-Grossberg neural networks (CGNN) with time-varying delays and continuously distributed delays. CGNN herein is a general neural networks model which includes some well-known neural networks as its special cases. Firstly, applying the homeomorphism theory, we establish the new sufficient condition of existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium point to CGNN. Then, the sufficient criteria of global exponential stability of CGNN, which are easy to verify, are given by M-matrix. Our results imply and generalize some existed ones in previous literature. Furthermore, it is convenient to estimate the exponential convergence rates of the neural networks by using the criteria. Compared with the previous methods, our method does not resort to any Lyapunov functions or functionals. Finally, a example is given to illustrate the effective of our results.

Abstract:Without assuming the positivity of the amplification functions, we prove some M-matrix criteria for the R(+)(n)-global asymptotic stability of periodic Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with delays. By an extension of the Lyapunov method, we are able to include neural systems with multiple nonnegative periodic solutions and nonexponential convergence rate in our model and also include the Lotka-Volterra system, an important prototype of competitive neural networks, as a special case. The stability criteria for autonomous systems then follow as a corollary. Two numerical examples are provided to show that the limiting equilibrium or periodic solution need not be positive.

Abstract:The global asymptotic stability of discrete-time Cohen---Grossberg neural networks (CGNNs) with or without time delays is studied in this paper. The CGNNs are transformed into discrete-time interval systems, and several sufficient conditions of asymptotic stability for these interval systems are derived by constructing some suitable Lyapunov functionals. The obtained conditions are given in the form of linear matrix inequalities that can be checked numerically and very efficiently by resorting to the MATLAB LMI Control Toolbox.
