Abstract:Business Chinese Test (BCT) is a state-level standard test established to assess the Chinese proficiency of non-native speakers engaged in business activities.Currently there are two versions of test,which are paper-based and computer-based,designed to meet the needs of different candidates.This paper compares the results of computer-based test(CBT) and the results of paper-based test(PBT).The comparison shows that the results of CBT is close to the ones of PBT in general.And it also indicates that in terms of judging a candidate's expressive writing skill,the samples with Chinese characters input via keyboard can provide sufficient information as the ones by using handwriting input do.Therefore it is feasible to use the same score interpretation for the two test modes.
