Abstract:AIM: To study the chemical constituents of mangrove plant Lumnitzera racemosa,aiming at searching for new bioactive substances.METHOD: The EtOAc extract of Lumnitzera racemosa was subjected to repeated silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography to afford ten compounds.The structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and comparison with the data reported in literature.RESULTS: Ten known compounds were isolated and identified as 2-methyl-1,3-dihydroxy-5-tridecylbenzene(1),1,3-dihydroxy-5-undecylbenzene(2),ergosta-7,22-dien-3β-ol(3),emodin(4),kaempferol(5),quercetin(6),quercitrin(7),isoquercitrin(8),epigallocatechin(9) and gallic acid(10).CONCLUSION: All the compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time.Compounds 1 and 2 show inhibitory activity towards PTP1B with the IC_(50) values of(13.38±1.98) and(10.40±(0.88)(μmol·L~(-1))),respectively.
