Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the value of MRI in the diagnosis of fetal urinary abnormalities.Methods:MRI findings of 26 cases with fetal urinary abnormalities were retrospectively analyzed and correlated with ultrasonography and postpartum findings.Results:Of the 26 cases,there were polycystic renal disease(7 cases),hydronephrosis(11 cases),renal agenesis and/or severe renal dysplasia(6 cases:unilateral renal agenesis,4 cases;bilateral renal agenesis and severe renal dysplasia for 1 case each),urachal cyst(1 case) and intra-pelvic ectopic kidney(1 case).Conclusion:MRI could be used as an important complementary diagnostic modality for prenatal ultrasonography examination,which is not affected by the volume of ammiotic fluid,shows great value in the demonstration and diagnosis of fetal urinary abnormalities,provides comprehensive information of the fetus for clinical practice.
