Study of Adiponectin,vascular Endothelial Growth Factor,high-Sensitive C-reactive Protein and Cerebral Infarction in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Complicated with Cerebral Infarction

Abstract:Objective To observe the relation among the adiponectin(APN),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and high-sensitive C-reactive protein(hsCRP) and carotid artery intima atherosclerosis in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) complicated with cerebral infarction.Methods The study enrolled 105 patients with T2DM,among which included 72 patients with T2DM complicated with cerebral infarction(DACI) in DACI group,33 patients with simple type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM) in DM group and in the same period 30 healthy persons served in NC group.The carotid artery-media thickness(IMT),APN,VEGF and hsCRP were detected in all groups.Results The indexes in NC group,DM group and DACI group were measured,respectively IMT(0.72±0.13) mm,(0.89±0.19) mm vs(1.13±0.37) mm,Crouse points(1.22±1.06) points,(3.52±1.73) points vs(4.68±2.28) points,VEGF(112.96±11.27) ng/L,(143.83±15.86) ng/L vs(160.32±19.43) ng/L,hsCRP(1.52±0.98) mg/L,(6.58±2.83) mg/L vs(14.56±4.73) mg/L and the rate of carotid plaques(33.3%,63.6% vs 83.3%),by turns the indexes gradually increased from NC group,DM group to DACI group,while,the levels of APN(8.76±3.07) μmol/L,(5.17±2.87) μmol/L vs(3.28±1.87) μmol/L decreased,the difference was statistically significant(P0.01).As the severity of carotid artery plaque increased(P0.01),the levels of VEGF and hsCRP increased in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with cerebral infarction(P0.01),while the levels of APN were decreased(P0.01).Conclusion VEGF,APN and hsCRP in patients with DACI involved in the carotid atherosclerotic process,and they are closely related to the instability of the atherosclerotic plaque.
