Curative effect of modified Lingjiao Gouteng decoction on acute cerebral infarction

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the curative effect of modified Lingjiao Gouteng decoction in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction (ACI).Methods:Eighty patients with ACI admitted to Zhengzhou Sixth People’s Hospital from June 2020 to June 2021 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine Western medicine, and the observation group was treated with modified Lingjiao Gouteng decoction on the basis of the control group, for 14 days. The clinical efficacy, Traditional chinese Medicine TCM syndrome score, the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores, Barthel index (BI), Fugl-Meyel assessment scale (FMA) scores, serum inflammatory factors levels, including interleukin-18 (IL-18), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), hemorheological indicators, including plasma viscosity (PV), whole blood high shear blood viscosity (HBV), whole blood low shear blood viscosity (LBV), erythrocyte aggregation index (EAI) were compared between the two groups.Results:The treatment response rate of the observation group (90.00%, 36/40) was higher than that of the control group (70.00%, 28/40),
P<0.05. After treatment, TCM syndrome scores, NIHSS scores, levels of serum IL-18, hs-CRP and TNF-α, PV, LBV, HBV, EAI decreased, while BI, FMA scores increased in the two groups (all
P<0.05); meanwhile, TCM syndrome scores, NIHSS scores, levels of serum IL-18, hs-CRP and TNF-α, PV, LBV, HBV, EAI of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, while BI, FMA scores were higher than those of the control group (all
P<0.05).
Conclusions:Modified Lingjiao Gouteng decoction is effective in the treatment of ACI, it can alleviate clinical symptoms, reduce the level of inflammatory factors, improve neurological function and hemorheology, and improve motor function.
