Abstract:AIM: To investigate the abnormal detection rate of hyperlipidemia and analyze the clustering of hypertension, hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia of the population with hyperlipidemia in Heilongjiang Technical College of Electric Power. METHODS: The investigation was conducted between April 5th and May 31st, 2005 with cluster sampling method. 306 staffs from Heilongjiang Technical College of Electric Power were selected, and they agreed to take part in the investigation. Blood lipids, blood glucose and blood pressure were measured and performing statistical analysis in these data. ①Definition of hyperlipidemia was total cholesterol (TC) ≥5.27 mmol/L, triacylglycerol (TG) ≥1.70 mmol/L, low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) ≥3.64 mmol/L, high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) < 0.91 mmol/L. ②Definition of hypertension was systolic pressure ≥ 140 mm Hg(1 mm Hg =0.133 kPa) and/ (or) diastolic pressure ≥ 90 mm Hg. ③Fasting glucose ≥ 6.1mmol/L was hyperglycemia. RESULTS: A total of 306 observational subjects were involved in the result analysis, without drop out. ①Abnormal detection of blood lipid: The total number of the workers was 306. The abnormality detection rate of TC, TG, LDL-C and HDL-c were 37.58%, 32.03%, 39.87% and 0.33%, respectively. High TG had a gender difference; male's was higher than female's (χ2=24.387, P < 0.01). High levels of TC, TG, LDL-C had age differences, and women over 50 years old were higher significantly than that less than 50 years (χ2 =26.301,27.403,34.896,P < 0.01); But man had not age differences (P > 0.05). The detection rate of high cholesterol and LDL-C in the population over 60 years old had a gender difference; female's was significantly higher than male's (χ2 =6.930, 6.947, P < 0.01). ②Clustering of abnormal hypertension, hyperglycemia and blood lipid: There were 17 patients with abnormal cholesterol combining hypertension and hyperglycemia, which composed of 14.78%; 20 patients with abnormal TG combing hypertension and hyperglycemia, which composed of 20.41%; 19 patients with abnormal LDL-C combing hypertension and hyperglycemia, which accounted for 15.57%; None with HDL-C combining hypertension and hyperglycemia. CONCLUSION: The abnormality detection rate of serum TC, high TG and LDL-C has age difference in female staffs, while no difference in male staffs, and the reason needs further discussion. Different type of blood lipid has cluster with hypertension and hyperglycemia, but the proportion of cluster is low.
