Abstract:By using the auxiliary fuction method and dispersed Bellman in equality,the second order nonlinear difference equation Δ(r_nΔy_(n-1))+q_nf(y_n)=0,n=0,1,2,…,is studied,and two criteria for asymptotic behavior of the equation are obtained.

Abstract:This paper considers a class of nonlinear difference equations Δ 2(r ng(Δ 2y n))+f(n,y k(1)(n), ..., y k(m)(n)) = 0, n∈N(n 0) where f(n,y 1,y 2, ..., y m) may be classified as superlinear and sublinear. In superlinear and sublinear cases, necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for the difference equation to admit the existence of nonoscillatory solutions with special asymptotic properties.

Abstract:By establishing a new proper variational framework and using the critical point theory, we establish some new existence criteria to guarantee that the 2nth-order nonlinear difference equation containing both advance and retardation with p-Laplacian Delta(n)(r(t - n) Phi p(Delta(n)u(t - 1))) + q(t)Phi p (u(t)) = f (t,u(t + n),.,u(t),.,u(t - n)), n is an element of Z, has infinitely many homoclinic orbits, where Phi p(s) is p-Laplacian operator; Phi p(s) = |s|(p-2)s(1 < p < infinity) r, q, f are nonperiodic in t. Our conditions on the potential are rather relaxed, and some existing results in the literature are improved.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish several new Lyapunov-type inequalities for the nonlinear difference system {Δx(n)=α(n)x(n+1)+β(n)|y(n)|μ−2y(n),Δy(n)=−γ(n)|x(n+1)|ν−2x(n+1)−α(n)y(n), when the end-points are not necessarily usual zeros, but rather, generalized zeros. Our results improve almost all related existing ones.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the nonlinear second-order impulsive q(k)-difference equations with Sturm-Liouville type, in which nonlinear team and impulsive teams are dependent on first-order q(k)-derivatives. We obtain the existence and uniqueness results of solutions for the problem by Banach's contraction mapping principle and Schaefer's fixed point theorems. Abstract:This paper is concerned with dynamical behaviors of a second-order exponential-type fuzzy difference equation<math>xn+1=A+Be−xnC+xn−1,n=0,1,⋯,</math> where <math>A,B,C</math> and the initial values <math>x−1,x0</math> are positive fuzzy numbers. Applying generalization of division (g-division) of fuzzy numbers, we study the existence of positive fuzzy solution and the global asymptotic behavior of the model. Moreover, two simulation examples are given to show the validity of the theoretical results.

Abstract:In this paper, using the properties of the conformable fractional difference and fractional sum, we initially establish some oscillatory and asymptotic criteria for a fifth-order fractional difference equation. Several critical inequalities, the Riccati transformation technique, and the integral technique are used in the deduction process. We provide some example to test the results. The established criteria are new results in the study of oscillation, and can be extended to other types of high-order fractional difference equations as well as fractional differential equations with more complicated forms.

Abstract:This work is devoted to the development of methods for constructing asymptotic formulas as x→∞ of a fundamental system of solutions of linear differential equations generated by a symmetric two-term differential expression of odd order. The coefficients of the differential expression belong to classes of functions that allow oscillation (for example, those that do not satisfy the classical Titchmarsh–Levitan regularity conditions). As a model equation, the fifth-order equation i2p(x)y′′′′′+p(x)y′′′′′+q(x)y=λy, along with various behaviors of coefficients p(x),q(x), is investigated. New asymptotic formulas are obtained for the case when the function h(x)=−1+p−1/2(x)∉L1[1,∞) significantly influences the asymptotics of solutions to the equation. The case when the equation contains a nontrivial bifurcation parameter is studied.

By using the critical point theory, we establish some new sufficient conditions on the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions. Recent results are generalized and significantly improved. Abstract:The authors we study the existence of nontrivial homoclinic orbits of the second self-adjoint difference systemΔ2 u(t-1)-q(t)u(t)+▽V(t,u(t))=0 t∈Z,u∈Rm.Under superquadratic conditions,by using the Mountain Pass Theorem and the Symmetric Mountain Pass Theorem,some existence theorems are established for the existence of homoclinic orbits for the above nonautonomous Hamiltonian systems with a change of sign in the potential.

Abstract:The continuous problem \[ y'' = f(t,y,y'),\]\[ a_0 y(a) - a_1 y'(a) = c,\]\[ b_0 y(b) - b_1 y'(b) = d, \] and its discrete approximation \[ {{(y_{k + 1} - 2y_k + y_{k + 1} )} {h^2 }} = f({{t_k ,y_k ,(y_k - y_{k - 1} } / h}),\]\[ a_0 y_0 - a_1 {{(y_1 - y_0 )} / h} = c,\]\[ b_0 y_n + b_1 {{(y_n - y_{n - 1} )} / h} = d,\] are studied. Conditions which are known to yield a priori bounds on solutions to the continuous problem are imposed on the discrete problem. Examples are given which show that under the most general such conditions, the discrete problem may have solutions which satisfy analogous a priori bounds and also solutions which are large, irrelevant, and tend to $ + \infty $ as $h \to 0$. Other conditions are shown to give a priori bounds on all solutions to the discrete problem. Various kinds of a priori bounds are then used to construct mappings to which the algorithms of Aligower and Jeppson [1] can be applied to approximate solutions to the discrete problem. Solutions to the discrete problem are shown to converge to solutions of the continuous problem in an aggregate sense. The resulting existence theories are more constructive analogues of the results of Jackson [6], Waltman [13] and others.

Abstract:In the present paper, we further study the asymptotical behavior of the following higher order nonlinear difference equation x ( n + 1 ) = a x ( n ) + b f ( x ( n ) ) + c f ( x ( n − k ) ) , n = 0 , 1 , ... where a , b and c are constants with 0 < a < 1 , 0 ≤ b < 1 , 0 ≤ c < 1 and a + b + c = 1 , f ∈ C [ [ 0 , ∞ ) , [ 0 , ∞ ) ] with f ( x ) > 0 for x > 0 , and k is a positive integer, which has been recently studied in: On global attractivity of a higher order difference equation and its applications [Electron. J. Qual. Theory Diff. Equ. 2022, No. 2, 1–14]. We obtain some new sufficient conditions for the global attractivity of positive solutions of the equation, and show the applications of these results to some population models.

Abstract:Because fractional (p, q)-difference equations have great application potential in physics and mathematics, it is necessary to research fractional (p, q)-difference equations. In this paper, we study a class of nonlinear Riemann-Liouville fractional (p, q)-difference equations. Sufficient conditions for the oscillation of solutions are obtained via Young's inequality and other inequalities. At the same time, we consider the oscillation criterion of the nonlinear Caputo fractional difference equation. Some examples demonstrate the validity of main theorems. Moreover, we provide MATLAB codes for (p, q)-analogue of functions, derivatives and integrals.

By the fixed point theorem and the Hölder inequality, we study the existence of symmetric positive solutions for the above difference equation with sum form boundary conditions.

Exponentially-improved asymptotics for $q$-difference equations: ${}_2ϕ_0$ and $q{\rm P}_{\rm I}$

Abstract:Usually when solving differential or difference equations via series solutions one encounters divergent series in which the coefficients grow like a factorial. Surprisingly, in the $q$-world the $n$th coefficient is often of the size $q^{-\frac12 n(n-1)}$, in which $q\in(0,1)$ is fixed. Hence, the divergence is much stronger, and one has to introduce alternative Borel and Laplace transforms to make sense of these formal series. We will discuss exponentially-improved asymptotics for the basic hypergeometric function ${}_2\phi_0$ and for solutions of the $q$-difference first Painlevé equation $q{\rm P}_{\rm I}$. These are optimal truncated expansions, and re-expansions in terms of new $q$-hyperterminant functions. The re-expansions do incorporate the Stokes phenomena.
