Clarifying Capability Basis in Organizational Improvisation

Abstract:On the basis of extant literature,this paper clarifies the connotation of organizational improvisation systematically and analyzes and compares various categories of organizational improvisation.The paper distinguishes the categories of organizational improvisation according to various situations and draws the conclusion from the microfoundations and cognitive mechanisms of organizational capabilities to differentiate the nature of operational capabilities and dynamic capabilities.Finally,the paper clarifies the different capability bases in disparate types of organizational improvisation.
