Abstract:We study the following semilinear impulsive differential equation with delay: u′(t)+Au(t)=f(t,u(t),ut),t>0,t≠ti,u(s)=ϕ(s),s∈[−r,0],Δu(ti)=Ii(u(ti)),i=1,2,…,00 is a constant and ut(s)=u(t+s), s∈[−r,0]. Here, Δu(ti)=u(ti+)−u(ti−) constitutes an impulsive condition, which can be used to model more physical phenomena than the traditional initial value problems. We assume that f(t,u,w) is T-periodic in t and then prove with some compactness conditions that if solutions of the equation are ultimately bounded, then the differential equation has a T-periodic solution. The new results obtained here extend some results in this area for differential equations without impulsive conditions or without delays.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish the existence and stability of periodic solutions for neutral-type differential equations with piecewise impulses on time scales. We first obtain some sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique periodic solution by using the Banach contraction mapping principle. We also prove the existence of at least one periodic solution using the Schauder fixed point theorem. In addition, we establish the stability results based on the existence of periodic solutions. It is worth noting that the results of this paper are based on time scales, so that they are applicable to continuous, discrete, and other types of systems.

Abstract:A numerical method is described for digital simulation of rate-zonal centrifugation of particles with known sedimentation and diffusion coefficients in sucrose gradients at given temperatures. A model rotor based on the geometry of a B-XIV titanium zonal rotor is used. The rotor chamber is divided into 207 annular segments by 206 equidistant cylindrical planes. Initially 207 paired values describing the concentration radius profiles of sample and gradient material together with some physical constants are provided as input data. The net fluxes of material across each plane during a short period of time are calculated. The concentrations in each segment are adjusted accordingly, yielding new concentration radius profiles. New values of density and viscosity in each segment are calculated before the next transfer of materials is allowed to take place. The iterations are continued until a predetermined cumulative run time is reached. The advantages and the drawbacks of this approach are discussed. Comparison with an actual experiment revealed that the simulation method can be used to predict final particle distribution with rather good accuracy. Moreover, the hydrodynamic stability of sample particles can be evaluated at each time point and at each distance during a centrifugation. Hence, this numerical approach can be used to optimize experimental conditions in all types of zonal centrifugation.

By utilizing the perturbation method of a positive operator and the fixed point index theory in cones, some sufficient conditions are established for the existence as well as the non-existence of positive ω -periodic solutions.

Abstract:In this paper we are concerned with the existence of periodic solutions for semilinear Duffing equations with impulsive effects. Firstly for the autonomous one, basing on Poincaré-Birkhoff twist theorem, we prove the existence of infinitely many periodic solutions. Secondly, as for the nonautonomous case, the impulse brings us great challenges for the study, and there are only finitely many periodic solutions, which is quite different from the corresponding equation without impulses. Here, taking the autonomous one as an auxiliary equation, we find the relation between these two equations and then obtain the result also by Poincaré-Birkhoff twist theorem.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate nonlinear second-order double impulsive differential equations integral boundary value problem with p-Laplacian on an infinite interval with the infinite number of impulsive times. Based on the cone theory and monotone iterative technique, we establish the existence of minimal nonnegative solution and iteration of positive solutions for such a boundary value problem. The main results are new and extend the existing results. At last, some examples are worked out to demonstrate the use of the main results.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain conditions of existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions for a nonlinear fourth-order differential equation utilizing explicit Green's function and fixed point index theorem combining with operator spectral theorem. We discuss an iteration method for constant coefficient nonlinear differential equations and establish the theorem on the existence of positive solutions for a fourth-order boundary value problem with a variable parameter. Finally, we give an example to illustrate our results.

Using the analytic semigroup theory and fixed point strategy with stochastic analysis theory, we obtain the existence and the exponential stability of piecewise pseudo almost periodic in distribution mild solutions for impulsive partial neutral stochastic functional differential equations under non-Lipschitz conditions. Abstract:A class for systems of nonlinear second-order differential equations with periodic impulse action are considered. An urgent problem for this class of differential equations is the problem of the quantitative study (existence) in the case when the phase space of the equation is, in the general case, some Banach space. In this work, sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions for a system with parameters are obtained. The results are obtained by using fixed point theorems for operators on a cone. Our approach is based on Schaefer’s fixed point theorem more precisely. In addition, the existence of positive solutions is also investigated.

Abstract:By processing the problem through fixed point theory and propagator theory, we investigate the periodicity of solutions to a class of impulsive evolution equations in Hilbert spaces and establish some existence theorems for periodic solutions. Moreover, the asymptotic stability of periodic solutions is obtained under suitable conditions. As one will see, the concept of an impulsive propagator is introduced for the first time in the paper.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the positive solutions of the periodic-parabolic logistic equation with indefinite weight function and nonhomogeneous diffusion coefficient. By employing sufficient conditions to guarantee negative principal eigenvalue, we obtain the existence, uniqueness, and stability of the positive periodic solutions. Moreover, we prove that the positive periodic solution tends to the unique positive solution of the corresponding non-autonomous logistic equation when the diffusion rate is large.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to investigating a class of neutral-type integral differential equations arising in an epidemic model. By using Mawhin's continuation theorem and the properties of neutral-type operators, we obtain the existence conditions for positive periodic solutions of the considered neutral-type integral differential equation. Compared with previous results, the existence conditions in this paper are less restricted, thus extending the results of the existing literature. Finally, two examples are given to show the effectiveness and merits of the main results of this paper. Our results can be used to obtain the existence of a positive periodic solution to the corresponding non-neutral-type integral differential equation.

Abstract and Applied Analysis

Abstract:Firstly, we propose a concept of uniformly almost periodic functions on almost periodic time scales and investigate some basic properties of them. When time scale T = R or Z , our definition of the uniformly almost periodic functions is equivalent to the classical definitions of uniformly almost periodic functions and the uniformly almost periodic sequences, respectively. Then, based on these, we study the existence and uniqueness of almost periodic solutions and derive some fundamental conditions of admitting an exponential dichotomy to linear dynamic equations. Finally, as an application of our results, we study the existence of almost periodic solutions for an almost periodic nonlinear dynamic equations on time scales.
