The design of a small ultra-wideband antenna with band notch function

Abstract:An elliptical coplanar waveguide (CPW) -fed slot UWB antenna with band notch function was pro- posed. The total size of the antenna was 25mm×26mm×0.64mm. It had been studied experimentally for its im- pedance bandwidth, radiation patterns and gain by using CSTsoftware. As can be seen, within the operation band- width from3.1 GHz to more than 20GHz, the voltage stand wave ratio (VSWR) is lower than 2, in which a fre- quency notched band from5.1GHz to6.2 GHz has been achieved. Good radiation performance over the entire fre- quency range has also been achieved.
