Soil Fertility in Banana Plantation in Hainan Province

Abstract:The results of soil fertility of 65 soil sample from Danzhou、Lingao、Dongfang、Changjiang and Ledong counties in western Hainan were that pH of 88.08% of soil was lower than 5.5 and the soils was acid,the organic matter content in 41.54% of soil samples were lower than 10 g·kg-1,available N content in 35.38% of soil samples were lower than 60 mg·kg-1,available P content in 38.47% of soil samples were lower than 10 mg·kg-1,exchangeable Ca content in 26.93% of soil samples were lower than 2.5 cmol(+)·kg-1,exchangeable Mg content in 87.50% of soil samples were lower than 0.4 cmol(+)·kg-1,available S content in 38.46% of soil samples were lower than 12 mg·kg-1,available Cu content in 72.31% of soil samples were lower than 2.0 mg·kg-1,available B content in all soil samples were lower than 0.5 mg·kg-1.Especially in Dongfang the fertility Level was lowest,most content of the organic matter,N,P,Ca,Mg,S and Cu were lower than the critical value.
