Abstract:The fact that the Olympic program is ever changeable is one of the most important and unique features of Modern Summer Olympic Games. The Olympic Program has become, among other aspects, the core design and important criterion of a successful Olympiad. By using documentation research, analysis and etc, the current situation shows that it is highly urgent to take reform in sport events by IOC as soon as possible and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games provided a good opportunity to understand the establishment of Olympic program. Some suggestions are put forward based on the negative impacts of the IOC antigigantism reform to the development of the Olympic Games: a. Attention should be paid to the Olympic Games' role as the guidance and leverage on sports development.; b. Minor events can be reduced, whereas sports with characteristics of the host country can be remained unchanged or increased moderately, so that every Olympic Games has its unique features, both national and international. c. According to the goal on the Olympics globalization, the Olympic program should be multi-classed to provide the opportunity for athletes from different regions and ethnic groups to compete. d. The Olympic program should develop the following events: first, events showing the advantages of the host country and region; second, events with unpredictable results; third, events catering for different audiences; and fourth, events with sport stars' involvement.
