Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of the completeness of revascularization on the prognosis of patients with three-vessel disease. Methods A lot of 181 patients were enrolled and divided into the complete revascularization(CR) group(n=58) and the incomplete revascularization(IR) group(n=123),according to the strategy of treatment they received. All the patients were followed up for 6-70 months(mean 28.6±9.2 months).Changes in cardiac function and the mortality between the two groups were compared. Results (1) Baseline data: There was no significant difference in both gender and age between the two groups.(2) During the follow-up,nine patients(7.32%) died in the IR group and five patients(8.62%) died in the CR group.Readmission rate was 13.8%(seventeen patients) in the IR group and 10.3%(seven patients) in the CR group.(3) No statistical differences were found between the CR group and the IR group in terms of cardiac function and mortality rate after the follow-up(both P values0.05).However,LVEF before revascularization had significant influence on mortality(P=0.004,95%CI=0.893~0.978).Conclusion The strategy of incomplete revascularization by percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) did not show inferiority in terms of mortality compared with complete revascularization by PCI or CABG in patients with three-vessel disease while the level of pre-operational LVEF had significant influence on the mortality rate.
