Abstract:Contemporary Chinese society is in a multi-cultural times.The contemporary China multi-culture has a series of characteristics of its own: typical and complex multi-cultural situation,multi-cultural patterns of polymerizing regulation and control,multi-cultural tension of the coexistence and complementariness of competition and conflict.These features has had a major impact on current development of adult education: the mainstream culture in China determines the direction of the development of adult education,cultural conflicts bring on cognitive confusion of adult education,cultural differences affect the selection of adult education content and mode,multi-culture promote adult education reform.Facing the challenges of cultural diversity of contemporary China,adult education should take some innovation strategies to accelerate its reform,including: establishing multi-cultural adult education ideas,exploring suitable adult education patterns for Chinese national conditions,attaching importance to adult education courses reform and teacher training under the framework of multi-culture,developing international understanding education aimed at the adult citizens.
