Contrastive Discourse Analysis and the Application of Computational Discourse Analysis Model

Abstract:Based on the theoretical framework of Text Linguistics and Discourse Analysis,this paper contends that the application of Contrastive Discourse Analysis in language teaching is correspondent with the cognitive qualities of mankind.It further argues that Contrastive Discourse Analysis can facilitate Second Language Acquisition,and thus can contribute to the building of linguistic and pragmatic abilities.On the basis of the argument,this paper also analyzes the multi-level network of Contrastive Discourse Analysis.The analysis leads to the argument that the application of Computational Discourse Analysis Model can broaden the scope of Contrastive Discourse Analysis.Assisted by the various means of Computer Assisted Language Learning(CALL),Contrastive Discourse Analysis can promote language education and enhance the efficiency of learning.
